ehem so looking at the data of the previous post, i have surmised that majority believe that venti, childe and hu tao are the most likely to call xiao ‘shortie’ straight to the face.

venti would one hundred percent refer to him as that behind his back. he would never have the courage to say it out of the blue (after all, xiao is an adeptus and a close colleague of morax) but if he reads the air just right, then he might let it slip once in a while. also, hand him a few bottles of liquor and watch xiao be his babysitter. i’m not sure who’s taller but either way, it’s not stopping venti from drunkenly patting xiao’s head while cooing, “shortieee~”

childe and his suicidal ass would of course, do this. to him, it’s like teetering at the edge of a blade and that was exciting. would xiao get offended? would he get mad? would he kill him? he probably says it to mock xiao and trick him into fighting him. after all, childe has always dreamt of fighting a god and xiao is currently the closest to that. i highly doubt xiao would, however, because he’s either used to it already or he saw through childe’s tricks and figured that he’s not giving the himbo any satisfaction.

hu tao would just call him that, straight up. xiao? who’s that? oh you mean, shortie. ah, you should’ve said so! i’m not sure if she means to disrespect him, tease him or none of the above and she’s just like that. like venti, she wouldn’t care who’s taller. xiao=shortie. honestly, hu tao might even view it as an affectionate petname. of course, this is out of respect for liyuen traditions as well.

and for that one person who replied that the traveler would, i love your brain. i agree and it’s actually funny to think about. either paimon says it first and it just kind of becomes an inside joke or they think about it right in front of him like ‘look at this shortie talk’. if xiao and the traveler becomes close as the traveler is to zhongli, then he would gain the courage to give him that nickname. after all, he did mock the geo archon himself for being broke, what’s a shortie yaksha compared to that?
