In-game and lore spoiler ahead! Click away if you don’t want any!

This man, this amazing amazing man, I can’t do him justice. I mean even if I wanted to, where do I begin?!

This is me trying.

Diluc Rangvindr became the Cavalry Captain of the Knights Of Favonius when he was 14 years old, “No matter what the missions demanded from him, he always maintained his composure and his passion. No matter how big the challenge before him, his boundless courage always led him to the front line.” and he was a damn good one at that. So what changed?
The day Crepus died, the day his delusion backfired on him, the day kaeya told him the truth about his origins, and the day he resigned his position as a knight of Favonius, is the day the dapper Diluc Ragnvindr swore to avenge his fathers’ death and find the source of the “Evil eye”.

Okay okay alright, so he has a tragic past, and I’m all for that, I mean you’d have guessed that from my previous posts. but what makes Diluc different? Why is Diluc worth so much more than what he is given?

Well, the answer is pretty darn simple. Diluc Ragnvindr retired from his position as Cavalry Captain at the age of 18 because Inspector Eroch asked him to conceal the truth of the story of his father’s death, using the image of the knights as an excuse. According to Diluc, the Knights are scumbags who will do anything to upkeep their reputation. But he continues to protect Mondstadt, even if it is, from the shadows. He may be different from the knights in terms of morale, but they share a common goal to protect Mondstadt and its people.
