Diluc
- You just received news that one of your closest friends was getting married.
- Filled with excitement, you started dancing around in your room after reading the letter.
- Diluc, hearing the commotion, opens the door. He raises an eyebrow at your sporadic movements, wondering what was making you so happy.
- To his surprise, you leap towards him, wrapping your arms around the back of his neck.
- He nearly doesn’t catch you. He takes several steps back in order to maintain his balance. It’s not that he isn’t strong enough to carry you,
this man throws around a claymore with one hand like it’s nothing, but he was taken off-guard. - You weren’t worried at all, though—you were too busy rambling about the joyous news.
- He’s bewildered and tbh isn’t really listening to anything that’s coming out of your mouth. He’s too busy recovering from the fact that you jumped into his arms, and he was still carrying you—your legs were wrapped around his waist, and his hands were under your thighs for support.
- Thinks about it for ages afterwards, a slight blush on his face as he remembers how soft your thighs felt in his hands.
- Now he’ll randomly scoop you up when you two are talking.
“What? I just…like feeling you close, alright?”
Kaeya
- Kaeya has self-preservation instincts, so you don’t really have to worry about him. You knew he would not take more than he could handle or take unnecessary risks.
- He would do anything to ensure he would be able to return home to you at the end of each day.
- But even someone as elusive of work as Kaeya must answer to his duties as the cavalry captain. When he was called to clear a hillichurl camp nearby, you trusted he would be fine.
- So it was a nasty shock when you received the news via a hawk that Kaeya was hurt, and that you must go to the cathedral to see him right away
- You nearly knocked down two people after sprinting out of your house
- You burst through the cathedral doors, hyperventilating and on the verge of tears.
- That’s when you see Kaeya sitting on one of the benches, a few bandages wrapped around his arms but nothing more.
- That little shit wanted to take you on a date after a successful victory. He only stopped by the cathedral to get a small wound patched up, and he didn’t realize how bad it sounded asking you to meet him here
- You’re so relieved that you jump into his arms, burying your face in his chest.
- Kaeya starts to tease you, but when he sees how much you’re shaking he smooths your hair, whispering assurances and sweet nothings in your ear.
“I’m sorry I scared you, darling. I’m here, so don’t cry, okay?”
Childe
- Childe was called back to his homeland for a mission that was originally supposed to last a couple of weeks but ends up taking several months.
- The two of you wrote letters to each other, but it wasn’t the same.
- On the day he was finally supposed to return, you were the first one at the docks, practically bursting with anticipation.
- When his ship finally arrives, you frantically search for him amongst the sea of people. The thousands of miles that separated the two of you have now become nothing more than a few metres, and you were practically pushing people out of the way in your search for him.
- When you finally spot that familiar head of ginger hair and easy smile, you break into a sprint, leaping towards him.
- Thank god for Childe’s quick reflexes. He didn’t see you until your feet had already left the ground, and he immediately opened his arms to catch you.
- You land safely in his arms. He spins you around, laughing as he rubs his cheek against yours.
- You’re getting weird looks from people, but the two of you don’t care. You’re too busy relishing in each other’s presence after so long apart.
“I’m home! I missed you so much, baby.”
Zhongli
- It hit you that you have never seen Zhongli lose his composure. He always looked calm and collected, so you wanted to see how he looked when he was caught off-guard for once.
- That’s how you decide you were going to play a prank on your lover.
- While he was walking through the front door after coming home from work, you leapt out from the side, shouting “think fast!” as you crash into him.
- Man’s
literallya god, so he has no trouble catching you. - Merely blinks in surprise, repositioning you in his arms so he can get a better grip of your legs.
- He’s unfazed. He just thinks you missed him, so he plants a soft kiss on top of your nose.
- When he questions you, you tell him you thought he’d be more surprised, or maybe you’d be able to knock him to the ground for once.
- An adoring smile will spread on his face. He’ll wonder if you even knew how cute you were being.
- He’ll coo at you, causing you to become flustered and you hit his shoulder to let you down.
- Coddles you for the rest of the evening <3
“I’ll always be there to catch you, dear.”
Xiao
- You had a nightmare.
- You were standing there, helpless as you watched Xiao fall from the sky. The moment his body hit the ground, you screamed, dashing towards him. You kept shaking him, begging him to open his eyes, but he never did.
- Jolting awake, you cry out his name.
- Hearing your voice, Xiao rushes into your room. He asks you what was wrong, worried that you were hurting.
- You’re so relieved to see him that you throw yourself at him, your hands balled into fists as you sob into his chest.
- He stiffens—the two of you haven’t been dating for very long yet, so he’s still getting used to physical contact
- Despite his awkwardness, he still tries his best to comfort you.
- Clumsily pats your head, asking what you want him to do.
- Coaxes you back to bed with promises that he won’t leave your side. You’re reluctant at first, but you let Xiao tuck you under the covers.
- You fall asleep clutching his arm, hugging him like a teddy bear.
- With the dream-eating yaksha by your side, you can be assured that you will experience a peaceful, dreamless rest.
- As he watches you sleep, Xiao can’t help but replay the moment you leapt towards him. He felt a squeezing sensation in his chest, and he wonders what this curious feeling was.
“Even someone like me…can be the subject of someone’s affection?”
