Sometimes I still wonder why Kaeya asked for poetry lessons in the Windblume event and I can think of two reasons for that, knowing his character.

1. Because he wanted to make the festival and Venti’s lessons more lively. So that everyone actually took it seriously and had more fun. It also made it more interesting, which is something he’s always looking for.

2. Because he wanted to spend a little more time with Venti and maybe judge his character. From how they talked to each other, they clearly have met before (they were together in Jean’s party at least). But only Jean and Diluc should know that Venti is Barbatos. I’m pretty sure Kaeya suspects he’s Barbatos as well and wanted to know more about him, Venti’s reactions to his suggestions and such. It’s also something that I can see him doing.

That’s what I think at least, especially taking into account that he didn’t seem to take his poem very seriously… Maybe he wrote the hilichurlian thing on purpose as well just to see if Venti had something to say about it.
