If Genshin was a dating sim, imagine all the Liyue characters fighting over who gets to go with you to the lantern festival!! They’re all trying to sabotage each other so they get a chance to spend it with you… who would you choose?

Zhongli, the perfect gentleman, has a bouquet of glaze lilies that he presents to you. He kisses your hand, and talks about a date like it’s a business transaction; the benefits of spending the festival with him are endless, and he can tell you so much about its origins and traditions. He’ll make sure you’ll have a wonderful time, so be sure to choose him, okay? (He forced Childe to give him the money to treat you. Don’t worry about it too much).

Ningguang, in much the same way, treats a date like a business proposal. The pros of going out with her? You get a whole day of her attention to yourself. The cons? Nonexistent. Besides, she knows where the best food and game stalls are, and she has enough money to buy you whatever you want. You’ll have so much fun, you’ll forget about the others who tried to ask you out. You’re precious to her, and she wouldn’t extend such an offer to just anyone.

Childe (who Ningguang tried to throw in prison to keep him away from you, but ended up breaking out) is his usual flirty, teasing self as he drapes an arm around your shoulders. Money is no big deal to him, and he would gladly empty his coffers for you. Besides that, wouldn’t you love to steal through the streets in a pair of matching masks, while he steals kisses when no one is watching? He won’t make too much trouble when he’s with you, pinky promise.

Bonus: the other harbingers are so jealous that Childe gets to go on a date with you that they send assassins after him the next day.

Beidou will make anyone trying to go out with you arm wrestle with her, knowing full well that she’ll always win (you had to talk her down from making it an actual brawl). She’ll give you an exclusive view of the lanterns on her ship, where no one can disturb the two of you while she holds you close and feeds you by hand. Doesn’t that sound a wonderful time? She can show you Liyue in a way no one else can (and give you kisses no one else can, either).

Xiao finds the whole ordeal of fighting for your attention a little stupid– but once the others are busy squabbling somewhere else, he pulls on your arm so he can hand you qixing flowers he picked himself. You don’t have to go with him. He understands if you don’t want to, but it would make him unbearably happy if you would allow him the honor of simply strolling hand in hand down the streets, soaking in the peace he worked so hard to protect.

Keqing’s awkward as she approaches you. She needs to investigate and watch over the festival, so do you mind coming with her so she can keep the peace and make sure everything is in order? Isn’t she more reasonable and logical than all the others? It’s less of an investigation and more of a date, you realize, when she takes your hand with a blush so she doesn’t lose you in the crowds, and shyly offers to share some dessert with you.

Ganyu finally has time off her busy schedule, and the first thing she does is make a beeline to ask you to spend time with her. She hasn’t been to a festival in a long, long time, and she’s hoping she can spend it with you. She can’t keep her eyes off you when the two of you wander through the festival, and she calls you beautiful in a breathless voice. When you ask if she said anything, she’ll blush and try to play it off. But you really are the most beautiful person she’s ever seen.

Chongyun, Xingqiu, Xiangling and Xinyan pool their lunch money together and offer to buy you festival food, if you promise to spend the time with them! Of course, they all have their own agendas, because you are their favorite person. Chongyun will tug on your sleeve shyly, so the two of you can try your hand at festival games and win matching prizes. Xingqiu tries so hard to act like a gentleman, but the moment he sees a bookstall, he’s dragging you over to ramble about his favorite stories. Xiangling takes over a cooking booth and starts cooking delicious delicacies that have people lining up for blocks. Of course, you’re the first one she allows to taste her food! Xinyan performs captivating songs that leave people in uproarious applause, and she dedicates all of them to you.

Perhaps the hardest person to say no to is Qiqi, who’s wide eyed at every new sight. She clings closely to you, someone she considers akin to family, and you hold her hand gently as you take her everywhere she’s interested in. When she’s tired, you carry her in your arms as she dozes off peacefully, happy and safe in your embrace.
