You wouldn’t change Kaeya for the world. He was charming, social, and easy to talk to. Not only that but he was a gentleman. Well, that’s what everyone saw. He loves you right? And you love him. But you can’t help but wonder, why does he have an arm around a girl every night? ‘Yet, to love to someone you have to accept their behavior even if it harms you.’ You told yourself in your mind. Kaeya returned home that night with a different scent of perfume. You didn’t even wear perfume so he must’ve been with some ladies. This hurt you a lot but that’s what love is right? You smiled and hugged him. He hugged back, stroking your hair.

“I missed you my love.” He sighed, sounding relieved. Was he relieved because he was home or because he thought you didn’t notice the smell of perfume? You wondered that.

“I missed you too.” You muttered, staying in his embrace for a little bit. You felt so loved yet the pit in your stomach was telling you this is wrong. It felt wrong being with him. But you still loved him. You pulled away, keeping the same smile on your face. “Do you wanna get some rest? You’ve probably had a long day, I could make us some dinner.” You offered. He shook his head and cupped your cheeks.

“Let’s rest, I missed my darling.” He said, carrying you. You were wrapped around his finger and you knew it. Moments like these where he would tell you empty romantic words that would flood your heart.

Please don’t go, please don’t go. I love you so, I love you so…

You begged in your head while he slept beside you. You hugged him from behind, tears welling up in your eyes. Why did this feel wrong? You loved him. You loved him too much. Despite all the countless times he broke your heart, talking to others and saying you weren’t anything special. You didn’t care how many times your heart shattered or how wrong this felt. Just as long as he stays by your side, that’s all you cared about.

Please break my heart.” Tears fell from your eyes as if a star was falling from the sky. Your grip tightened around him. Your eyelids felt heavy and heavier, you eventually let them close.

After a few days, Diluc approached you. A bit confused but you agreed to talk to him privately.

“I’ve noticed the past few days you haven’t been doing so well. And I’m not going to beat around the bush, I’m affirmative that Kaeya is the cause of all this. I’m concerned for you, you’re a good friend of mine and I don’t want you getting hurt.” He expressed his concerns. “You can tell me that I’m wrong but I can see clearly how many times he hurt you emotionally.” He said. Why were you tearing up again? Diluc was right. The captain had hurt your heart too many times but..

“I love him Diluc..he loves me too.” You said, your voice was barely above a whisper. The red haired man sighed, looking you in the eyes.

“As harsh as this may sound, Kaeya doesn’t. You know how many times he’s kissed countless other people while I worked knowing that you’re being played? I can’t just stand around anymore. He can tell you the most loving words and not mean any of it. He’s a liar.” Diluc said. “If he loved you and cared for you, he wouldn’t be doing that.” He added.

“What do you know about love?” You asked, letting tears spill. He paused for moment.

“I know that you shouldn’t be cheating and drinking every night when you have a partner to go back home to, that’s for sure.” He said, though his voice was stern you could tell he cared.

“B-But…”

“He doesn’t love you. You deserve someone who genuinely does.” He said, grabbing you by the shoulders gently. “Don’t you understand? He’s not the right one.”

“Well who else would love me.” You broke down, crying in his arms.

“There’s someone out there who does, but right now you should focus on yourself.” He said, hugging you while patting your back. ‘Typical Diluc, he’s not really good with hugs is he?’ You thought. “The choice whether you want to stay with him or not is up to you. But that kind of relationship isn’t healthy.” He sighed. You stayed silent for a couple of moments, trying to collect yourself.

“I’ll think about it.” You told Diluc, letting go of him. You wiped your tears away and smiled at him. Never in your life were you so happy to have a friend like him. “Thanks Diluc, I really needed that.” You thanked him. He nodded.

“I’m always here for you if you need to talk. I’m not good with comfort but know that you have my support.” Diluc said. Little did you both know, the blue haired captain was eavesdropping in the shadows.
