• Whenever you came to visit Monstadt, you would greet anyone and everyone but Kaeya
• And he didn’t understand why
• Surely, he hadn’t done anything too extreme
• He wracked his brain for anything that could’ve made you acted this way but to no avail
• That is until Jean and Lisa talked about it in the meeting room
• Then, he understood
• It was just a harmless lie and you got the job done for him- oh.
• Perhaps the lie did hurt you
• He did debate on asking you directly but he wasn’t so sure of you at first so he opted to devise this plan instead to get what he wanted
• Which he always did if he was wary of people at first
• Though, this shouldn’t have affected him this much considering he’s used to lying like this… But…
• He did grow a bit fond of you in the short time you had been working together
• Hm, perhaps he should apologize
• So, one day when you came back to visit again…
• He stopped you right in front of the entrance
• You gave him quite the fearsome glare
• He laughed at that, thinking it was a bit cute
• You were almost tempted to walk away when he suddenly spoke up

Kaeya : “(Y/N), wait!”

You : …

Kaeya : Please, I mean you no harm.

You : …?

Kaeya : In fact, I have something for you.

You : *skeptical look*

Kaeya : No worries, it doesn’t bite.

You : Hm.

Kaeya : *pulls out the bouquet of dandelions he had behind his back*

You : *surprised expression*

Kaeya : An apology gift.

• You were still suspicious of his actions, of course
• But the dandelions looked so pretty and his sorry expression felt really genuine
• You hesitantly took the bouquet into your arms and muttered a small “thank you” while covering your face with the flowers
• “Does this mean my apology is accepted?”, he’d ask with clear hope in his eyes
• You brought out a hand to him
• He looked at it, confused
• “What are you…”, asks Kaeya, having no clue whatsoever as to what you were doing
• You shook your hand in a hand shaking moment
• It took him a minute
• But when he did, his booming laughter shocked you quite a bit
• “You’re adorable! You want to shake on it?”, he exclaims, eyes full of mirth and his smile ever so wide from trying to prevent himself from laughing more
• You pouted, kicking him lightly in the shin
• “Okay, okay, I’m sorry. Let’s shake on it then.”, he apologizes again, his laughter reducing to small chuckles as he took your hand in his
• You realized at that moment that his hands were slightly bigger than yours and surprisingly warmer too despite him being a cryo user
• Then, you both shook hands and you were embarrassingly trying to forget how warm and gentle his hands were
• “So… We’re on good terms again?”, he questioned, lilting his voice while raising a slim eyebrow
• You nodded, playing a bit with the tips of the flowers
• “I’m glad then.”, he’d say with a peaceful smile on his face
