Summary: This is part 2 of moral of the story where the reality is sinking into Kaeya’s mind. He won’t stand for it. Calling any and everyone you know to figure out where you’re at. But he forgets to ask someone that he himself was close to.

Kaeya paces around the room urgently. He couldn’t believe this. He has called all your friends, even your parents, as well as your coworkers. The response he got was that no one has heard from you since their 3rd anniversary. Kaeya’s fingers are pressed harshly against his skin, pinching himself. He didn’t know what to do. No one has seen you and you even quit your job. This wasn’t looking good for him. How could he even find you?

While Kaeya was having a whole breakdown on your whereabouts, you were calming sipping a pina colada on a lawn chair in front of a pool. The sun was bright, and the breeze was just right. A huge smile on your lips. Now this was the life. “Seems like you’re having the time of your life.” Your eyes move over to a very good friend of yours and your husband’s brother, Diluc. “Oh yes, very much so.” Diluc chuckles at your answer. He leans against your chair. “Is there anything that I could do that would make your time here even better?” You raise an eyebrow at his words, running your eyes from his head all the way down to his toes. “I would very much love to indulge in these fantasies. But I am still married to your brother. I have been nothing but faithful and will continue to until we are divorced.” Diluc rolls his eyes, his hands moving under your chin to make both of your eyes meet.

“I have always told you; you picked the wrong brother. If you were with me, you would never feel the pain he gives you. You wouldn’t have to ever worry about a thing.” The smile on your lips falls because not only were you sad that you picked the wrong brother but everything Diluc is saying is true. A sigh escapes your lips. “I know, trust me I know.” You whisper, looking down at the ground. At the thought of your ex-husband, many memories wash over your form. You don’t even know where to begin. Your body is being succumbed to many options and ideas. Even the thought that you could work things out with Kaeya. But that was a very low thought. Something only the weak you would think of. Diluc shakes his head. “Being loyal to a disloyal man, ironic isn’t it.” He leans closer to your face. “Even in the face of temptation, you stay strong.” He whispers into your ear, earning a giggle to release from your lips. “You flatter me so, Diluc.” A wide grin was on Diluc’s lips, “I just couldn’t resist myself.”

Diluc leaves with a wave and a lingering touch on your shoulder. You are left with your own thoughts. A ringing comes from your phone, and you quickly pick up. “Good afternoon, Miss, it is me your lawyer, Yanfei. The documentations on your divorce are ready to be signed and finalized.” You hum happily. “Thank you so much, Yanfei. I would like these to be delivered right now to my ex-husband.” Yanfei had replied with a yes ma’am. You want this to finally be over. You still feel stupid for believing you could ever fix the relationship. And now seeing the scene right before your eyes, you realized that this wasn’t what you signed up for. You would be lying if you said you didn’t love Kaeya anymore but you sure as hell hate him.

It only took a few hours later for a knock to be at Kaeya’s door. He hurriedly opens the door, the thought of you being behind the door perking his interest. He losses interest when he opens the door to see a random man wearing a suit. In his hands was an envelope. “Who are you?” Kaeya questions. “I am aware that you are looking for your wife. And I am here to explain to you that she doesn’t want to see you unless it is in court. In this envelope is your wife’s demands and divorce papers.” Kaeya’s whole world stops at the realization. Everything paused around him. The man hands Kaeya the envelope. Kaeya stares down at the envelope.

Divorce? He never thought he would ever be in this position. His body was vague with emotions as he begins to let the emotions fall over him. He couldn’t believe any of this was happening. And this was all her fault.
