Kaeya and Diluc Headcanons - Kaeya x Zhongli Headcanons: Side Quest: Rescue the Lotus Princess

So headcanons say that Diluc and Kaeya have their worst argument yet, ending with a snarling Diluc saying ‘you are not my brother’ and 'you never knew my father’. Cue the two splitting on the worst possible terms, shortly before Kaeya travels to Liyue with Aether and the other Windscouts.

So adventures happen. Kaeya falls head-over-heels in love with the mysterious Zhongli, after being deeply wounded by Diluc, and willingly jumps into a fairy-tale relationship. Some time passes before Kaeya sends a Letter of Resignation to Jean, which doubles as a goodbye letter to Diluc. In the letter, Kaeya warmly thanks Jean for everything, tells her he plans on staying with the love of his life, and apologizes to Diluc for failing him as a brother. He ends the letter hoping Diluc forgets he ever had a brother named Kaeya.

Two weeks pass. Diluc closes the tavern for an indefinite amount of time and recruits a rather surprised Jean in a search for Kaeya. After a series of events, they end up in Liyue and discover that their missing Kaeya is in love with a legendary businessman named 'Zhongli’. Not only that, but the former Knight has been nicknamed 'the Lotus Princess’. Unfortunately, they also find out that the Lotus Princess has either been abducted by the Abyss Order, the Fatui or another one of Zhongli’s enemies, as a means of getting through to Zhongli himself.

So begins a race against time. Diluc and Jean somehow meet up with Aether and friends, determined to rescue Kaeya from what seems to be a horrible threat. It’ll probably be the Fatui, as Childe’s intimately involved with Aether and is trailing Zhongli.

Speaking of Zhongli, Diluc meets him and pretty much spends all of the time hissing at him-like a cat-because of everything going on with Kaeya.
