Kaeya x Zhongli HCs/Kaeya and Diluc HCs: Aftermath.
So cue a relationship in which Zhongli dotes on Kaeya, treating the Knight of Favonius very much like a princess. Baby blue kitten falls madly in love with the prince of his dreams, and eventually decides to remain in Liyue, at Zhongli’s side. Despite the ever-deepening clouds of mystery hovering around him, Kaeya vows to support the love of his life with everything he has to give. So he ends his life in Mondstadt as a Knight.
Kaeya writes a Letter of Resignation to the Grand Master, and a resignation letter to Jean. The letter he writes to Jean also doubles as a letter to Diluc; he didn’t pen a separate one for Diluc because he knew the tavern owner wouldn’t read it. So Jean reads the letter out loud, to herself and her friend, reading about how blissful Kaeya is in his new life, about how very much in love he is with Zhongli, and his vow to only return to Mondstadt for a quick visit. He then reveals the deep, dark truths he harbored, for far too long, about himself and Diluc’s father.
He ends the letter warmly thanking Jean for everything, then addresses Diluc directly, telling him ‘I’m sorry I failed you as a brother. You may never forgive me, but I hope you know nothing but the sweetest happiness for the rest of your days. Goodbye, Luc. Take care of yourself’.
They say nothing to each other once Jean finishes reading. Two weeks later, Diluc and Jean head off to Liyue.
