Ok but like every major boss in the main story is the fault of the abyss. Like it corrupted Dvalin into attacking Mondstadt, it made Childe the way he is, and even the rock frog was angered because of the impact on the leylines, which we know have been twisted and corrupted by the abyss. And for the chasm to have been destroyed due to abyssal influence (and a meteor), as well as direct openings to the abyss being created multiple times (obviously the abyss order, but even the ones Childe used to enter and escape and the one we see our sibling use), the abyss is definitely getting stronger. Khaenri’ah was destroyed 500 years ago, and since then, these things have become more and more common. Unlike the other characters involved with Khaenri’ah and the abyss, Childe had no prior connection to it (that we know of), so for the abyss to claim a mortal soul…
