A/N: Happy Mother’s Day to all mothers out there! Here’s a very rushed, not proofread Kaeya fic.

“Happy Mother’s day!” your daughter squeaked, holding up a piece of pink construction paper with the words, ‘hapy mothers’ day’ scribbled in green crayon. “This is for you!”

You let out a gasp, feigning shock as you hugged her. “What a surprise! A card? How thoughtful of you, sweetie!” You took the card from her hand. “Wow, did you buy this?”

Your daughter giggled. “No! I drew it!”

“No, it can’t be! Kaeya, come look at our little artist!” You looked up to wave your husband over, but he was nowhere to be seen. “Kaeya?” you called again. “Lily, where’s your father?”

Your daughter giggled. “He said he had a mission to complete first! Uncle Dumb-Dumb walked me home.”

You made a mental note to thank Diluc profusely later, and to chew out your husband for leaving for whatever shady business he had to do while he was out with your daughter. “I see. Is Uncle Diluc still here?”

Lily nodded. “He brought some juice and snacks. He’s putting them away right now.”

“Why don’t you show your card to him, then? I’m sure he’ll be happy to see what an artist you’ve become.”

“Okay!” Your daughter grabbed the card back and scurried out of your bedroom, screeching, “Uncle Dumb-Dumb! Uncle Dumb-Dumb!” at the top of her lungs as she ran down the stairs.

You sighed, rubbing your temples. Kaeya had called his brother that once as a joke since your daughter could not pronounce ‘Diluc’ properly. Despite being able to pronounce it now, it seemed like the demeaning nickname was here to stay.

“Now where is that troublesome fake-pirate?” you grumbled.

“Talking about me?” You jumped at the sound of his deep voice. You whirled around, just in time to see Kaeya climbing in from the open window.

“What are you doing?” you demanded. “Didn’t you have a mission?”

Kaeya chuckled. “I did. I was busy procuring this.” He brought his hand out from behind his back. Bundled in violet tissue paper was a decorative bouquet of light blue flowers, their petals open despite the sunlight streaming in from the windows. “Happy Mother’s Day, darling.”

“Wh-What is this?” You gingerly took the bouquet from him, marveling at the sight. “Kaeya, please tell me you didn’t illegally import these glaze lilies.”

Your husband brought a hand to his chest in mock offense. “How dare you? Are you suggesting that I, the renowned Cavalry Captain of the Knights of Favonius, procured these flowers unlawfully?”

You raised your eyebrows at him.

“You would be absolutely correct. You know me so well.”

“Of course I know you well. I’m your wife, after all,” you reminded him.

Kaeya grinned, leaning forwards to press his lips against your forehead. “I love you,” he murmured. “Thank you for making me the happiest man in the world.”

You closed your eyes, leaning into his touch. “You’re welcome.”

“This is the part where you’re supposed to tell me you love me back, babe.”

“Who said I did?”

“Hey!”

“I’m kidding, Kaeya. I love you too.”
