you just wanted to spend time with your boyfriend.

but sir diluc ragnvindr of mondstadt had been overwhelmed with both his wine industry responsibilities, and his… ‘night job’. so to speak.

you tried being patient, but you had gotten used to his warmth, the smell of slightly burnt oak and alcohol filling your nostrils.

you’d even tried preoccupying yourself by going down to angels share to give charles a hand, but after an hour, he insisted that he “couldn’t allow ms. [name] to work so hard!” and politely kicked you out of the tavern.

hell, you’d gone as far as going to the knights of favonius headquarters and paid kaeya of all people a visit.

you had, however, quickly left after he greeted you with, “oh? finally decided to come to your senses and head to the better brother?”

what a nuisance he was.

and so, you could no longer take it.

you flung the door of dilucs office open, marching in with your head held high.

diluc glanced up, surprised.

“hello, dear. how may i help you?” he said, a smile spreading across his face at the sight of his lover, pouting like a child.

“diluc! i’ve waited long enough, you need to take a break and come give me affection.” you said, arms crossed, face resembling that of an angry kid who didn’t get what they wanted for christmas.

diluc sighed, “as much as i would love to leave this office,” he said, whilst standing up and heading towards you, “i do have work i need to finish.”

he wrapped his arms around you, resting his chin on your head.

you buried your face in his chest, savoring the contact.

you gave a sudden shout of surprise as diluc picked you up, heading back towards his desk.

he sat down, plopping you on his lap, and scooted his chair in so you were trapped between him and the desk.

“so… if i’m stuck here, you may as well be with me, right?” he grinned, giving you a kiss on the cheek.
