  • The ticking of the clock filled the entire room, making the chief alchemist be filled with worry. Heart picking up its pace as he started to get jittery. It was exceedingly late and yet there was no traces of you around the house.
  • As he was about to fetch for you, the doorbell rang. He opened the door and it revealed a smiling Kaeya holding you in his arms. You were sleeping and reeked of alcohol.
  • “Mr. Kaeya, what did I tell you? Kindly refrain from taking y/n into the bar each night.” the blonde deadpanned as he stole you from the chivalry captain’s strong arms, holding you closer and tight as he continued squinting his eyes at the male with a protective hand over your head.
  • “Hm? I did not, she was the one who invited me this time.” the taller male said. He turned into his back as he gave him an amused look, “Well, I’ll be going now. That was a very warm conversation, Mr. Albedo.”
  • With that he finally left as Albedo let out a small sigh. He closed the door and looked at your sleeping form, face flushed due to the effects of alcohol as your chest slowly heaved up and down. You looked peaceful, he thought.
  • He lead you to the room you two shared as he gently set you down the bed, softly smiling at you as he draped the covers over your body. He felt relaxed knowing that you’re safe and sound by his side.
  • Twisting his shoulder to relieve its pain, he then removed his coat. The sound of contact between skin and cloth filling the room, that was until he heard soft sniffling. His eyes widened as he looked back at you and was surprised with the sight he had.
  • You had your back facing him as your shoulders shook terribly, chest heaving heavily, and hot fat tears trailing down your face. He slowly approached you as he sat at the edge of the bed, mattress dipping due to his weight.
  • He hesitated on placing his hand on your shoulders, but still did. He slowly leaned in and saw your flushed face due to crying. He instantly felt bad as his eyebrows furrowed and heart squeezing.
  • “Are you crying?” he asked in the softest tone he could muster. You sniffed audibly as you pouted as your hand hastily wiped the tears away, “No, Barbatos just cursed my eyes by sprinkling sand in the air.”
  • He chuckled. The rich sound joyed you a little, just a little though. “We’re inside. There’s no wind.” You frowned deeper as you grabbed the hem of the blankets just to hover it over your whole being.
  • He knew you were just drunk, and maybe even more than that. He placed his hand on the spot where your arm should be, soothingly rubbing it. “y/n, I’m here. You can tell me anything.”
  • You were immediately to answer, “It’s nothing!” and curling more and more into a shape of a ball. He blinked for a few times before sighing shaking his head, an amused smile was on his face.
  • He got off the bed just to go to its other side. There he laid down right beside you, his head resting on his arm as his free hand went to grab the covers to reveal you. He instantly yanked it away and saw you with a panicked expression on your face.
  • Your eyes were red and puffy, whole face still flushed, and lips dry as you try to avoid his gaze. He placed his palm against your cheek which was cool against your warm skin. You met his eyes by reflex and the next thing you knew was him pressing his lips against yours.
  • It was comforting and soft, his kiss. It stayed for a few seconds before he pulled away just to caress his thumb on your smooth cheek. You grabbed his wrist as you attempt to look away again, “Albedo… s-stop….”
  • It was as if he didn’t hear anything, he scooted closer as now he grabbed your face with both hands as he kissed you again making you released a muffled yelp.
  • You didn’t exactly hated it, you just thought it was not the time for this. But the feeling of his kissing was so good and soothing you actually started to calm down. Your lips quivered as you swallowed.
  • He pulled away again as now he rested his forehead against yours, his fingers gently gliding down the side of your face. “Like I said, I’m here. You have me. You can tell me anything.”
  • The affection he was giving you right now made you happy to the point tears started to spill over your eyes again. You were thankful for having him by your side. You nodded as your try to choke back a sob but failed.
  • He kissed your forehead, making it linger there for a few seconds before letting your head rest on his chest in which where you can feel the vibrations of his uneven heartbeat. He was worried and it showed.
  • In his arms, you let all the negative emotions out. Hearing him softly shushing, arms tightly settled around your body, and hands lovingly caressing your hair let you feel the comfort you needed. He was the type of lover to give comfort through actions more than words for he knew affection was the thing you needed the most.
