Someone on Twitter brought up the idea of Ningguang and Jean being former lovers. And I just immediately thought of requited love that couldn’t be sustained because both have such heavy work schedules and so many responsibilities and they also live in different nations etc. So eventually they simply have to call it quits and part on amicable terms.
