• “Y/n, what’s your commissions today?” Xiao asked curiously
• He watched you as you got ready for your day, his head tilted slightly as he admired you
• “It’s just one today, a stonehide lawachurl” You said casually, as if it’s everyday you fight one
• Xiao suddenly sat up and started getting dressed himself, you looked at him baffled. “Xiao sweetie, what’re you doing?”
• “I’m coming with you” He simply said, leaving you even more confused
• “Why? Xiao, I’ll be alright. I promise to come back home to you” You softly said, cupping his face
• Xiao blushed as he gently moved your hands from his face, feeling flustered. “I know you always will, I want to go” He said
• “Fine, only on one condition though, you can’t interfere with my commission” You sternly said
• Xiao looked like he was deep in thought before he finally agreed, “At least if things do go wrong I’ll protect you”

• After getting your belongings you finally headed out to complete your commission, Xiao carried your stuff despite your protests
• “We’re nearly there, be careful it could anywhere” You said, standing in front of Xiao to protect him

• Xiao did as you asked, he moved back and stayed close behind you. In no time you managed to find the giant stonehide lawachurl, and immediately began attacking it
• Xiao sat on a nearby rock as he watched you beat its ass, but stayed on high alert at all times

• Xiao trust you, and knows how strong you are, yet he was beginning to feel irritated sitting down while you’re fighting

• But he can’t sit down any longer
• Xiao gets up, deciding to help you, unfortunately he underestimated his strength
• And one hit the lawachurl, killing it instantly

• Xiao was stunned for a second, before he realised what he had done
• “I’m sorry, y/n. I didn’t mean to hit it that hard” he apologised
• Without saying anything you suddenly started walking away from Xiao, leaving him baffled
• He knew you’d be upset but he didn’t know you would ignore him like this
• “Y/n” He called after you, but you still didn’t respond
• Pls don’t ignore Xiao it physically hurts him
• Still being petty you ignored him and made your way to Wangshu Inn, Xiao followed you as you walked in silence
• “Y/n” He said again, still no response from you
• “Hey, stop ignoring me!” He growled
• You shivered at his tone but still continued to ignore him, your pettiness slightly fading away
• “Fine I’ll s- Xiao?” You looked back to see he was gone
• Maybe you overreacted a bit
• You still continued your way but suddenly stopped when Xiao appeared in front of you
• Before you could apologise, Xiao wrapped his arms around you tightly, whispering ‘sorry’
• You reassured him he did nothing wrong, then treated him to almond tofu which he deserved
