additional notes : PLEASE i’ve been thinking abt this for so long i just had to write it </3 typing this out devastated me /pos

• he is definitely a cat person,, he likes how quiet and soft they are
• he stops to feed stray cats around mondstadt after he’s done with work a few times a week :( if he’s extra busy he might just leave some snacks out for the cats outside of the tavern. nobody knows about the mystery cat feeder though,, they’d never guess that it was diluc
• the cats love him !! they cuddle up to his legs because of his warmth :) he doesn’t have the heart to push them away most of the time so they tend to linger around him a lot
• you end up accidentally coming across him scratching one of his,, cat friends,, behind the ear one day. he turns away and tries to convince you that he wasn’t doing anything,, he wanted to keep his cat secret to himself </3
• you’d be able to get it out of him if you coax him a bit more. he’d try to brush it off as unimportant and tell you to forget about it though. if you persist he might give in and bring you along the next time he goes to feed the strays
• if you bring up wanting to get a cat together ?? he won’t be opposed to it. he’d be hesitant at first, not sure if he’d have enough time to look after his own cat with you. diluc’s been tempted to get a cat a couple of times before but never went through with it. having you to help look after one relieves him !! he doesn’t want to be a bad owner :(
• if you live separately he’d want your cat to stay at your home. diluc doesn’t spend too much time at his own place considering the responsibilities he has, so he’d want the cat to be in your care !! he doesn’t like the idea of neglecting it too much
• even if he had people to look after the cat at his manor he’d be more content with it being with you for the majority of the time. if you’re busy he’d have no problem keeping it at his own place, maybe even letting it stay with him behind the counter at the tavern
• if you lived together you’d get to witness so many soft diluc w cat moments it’s unbelievable </3 your cat would be so attached to him,, always climbing into his lap while he’s trying to work,, headbutting him,,
• he’d get the fondest smile if he ever sees you spending time with the cat. it makes him feel so warm inside. he secretly loves the way he can share small things with you, whether it be caring for a cat with you or simply having a meal together
• he’d wake up to the cat laying its body over his face sometimes. he was pretty startled the first few times but he got used to it </3
• diluc’s so soft and warm with the things he cares about :(
