—————————————————————————————————-

After (Y/N) lost their sibling they were very timid. They had met Paimon which was a relief. They normally relied on their sibling to do all of the talking when they interacted with people from different worlds. It scared them to meet new people. They had hid behind their sibling whenever they met someone. Paimon looked at them as they walked through the forest. When they came across someone and a dragon they hid more behind the tree until Paimon dragged them out from behind it. They got a tear drop thing. Which was the beginning of getting involved with Monstadt’s current problems. It made them extremely nervous. Now they were meeting a lot of people and became an honorary knight somehow. Paimon did most of the talking for them. Eventually they met master Diluc. “It’s a shame you became a knight. You are a good fighter.” Diluc said looking at them. He noticed how they looked away from him. They seemed timid. They were playing with a piece of their clothing. Diluc noticed how intimidated they looked. “Don’t worry about (Y/N) they don’t hate you or anything like that. They are just shy.” Paimon stated. Diluc raised an eyebrow. “Were they made a honorary knight without wishing to?” He asked worried. He knew Jean was a bit forward but it made him worry about them. He figured Kaeya was to blame if they were forced. “N-no I don’t m-mind too much.” They stuttered out. Master Diluc was a very intimidating man. He had a very strong presence. They glanced at him for a second. They met with red eyes and got nervous when their eyes had met. They looked away embarrassed. His gaze seemed a little less intense. They wish Paimon was the size of a normal so they could hide behind her. They hoped Master Diluc didn’t hate them for being shy and timid. Diluc was interested in knowing them a bit but feel as if he scared them. He tried approaching the traveler a differently. He never really met many people who were shy. He thought they would have been good fighting partners.

Eventually they ended up fighting storm terror. There was a celebration that Storm Terror was gone. (Y/N) wanted go thank Diluc for all of his help during this situation. “Hey Paimon can we go see Diluc before going to Liyue?” They asked in a quiet tone. Paimon looked shocked she thought they were afraid of Diluc. “Paimon is fine with it. But Paimon thought you were scared by Master Diluc.” Paimon said tilting her head. “I’m a bit intimidated because of his presence but I now know he’s not a bad person.” They said quietly. Paimon nods. The Dawn Winery was on the way to their to Liyue. They had to hope that Diluc was at the Winery. It was just going to be a small visit because they needed to make it to Liyue in time to meet Rex Lapis. They made their way to the Winery. Paimon had asked Adelinde to ask if Master Diluc was there. “Master Diluc is actually here today would you like me to go fetch him for you?” Adelinde asked. “If that’s ok. We dont plan on taking of much of his time.” Paimon said. “He’ll have plenty of time for the hero of Monstadt.” She said before went to get master Diluc. After a few minutes Diluc approached them. “I was told you requested me.” Diluc stated crossing his arms. He tried his best to not intimidate (Y/N). “Hello. I wanted to thank you for all of work you did to help with the storm terror situation.” (Y/N) said playing with the hem of their clothes. They looked everywhere but at Diluc. “I didn’t do much. You and the bard did a decent amount of the work. I’m not going to hurt you or anything if you look at me.” Diluc stated crossing his arms. He had grown a bit fond of them during this entire situation. It was a bit irritating for him since he’s never really interacted with anyone this shy before. His heart felt a bit strange when they looked at him. They looked really cute with a bright red face. Was he falling in love with them? He gave them a small smile. They returned it which made his heart skip a beat.

(Y/N) had looked away because Diluc looked super handsome. When their eyes met they wanted to hide their face. They had to start leaving to Liyue. “I need to head to Liyue soon. When I come back to Monstadt would you mind if we talked when I return to Monstadt next?” They asked with a quiet voice. They didn’t want to look away from his crimson eyes but became way to flustered and looked away. “I’d enjoy that lot. I would also like to get letters about your adventures. If you wouldn’t mind.” Diluc said with a faint blush. He wanted to get to know more about them to confirm if his feelings are true. “I’ll send you letters if you send replies. We can become pen pals. I want to be able to hear about things going on in Monstadt. You can send them to Liyue harbor. I want to get to know you a bit.” They said with a bright smile. Their voice was soft and timid sounding. “Sounds like a deal.” Diluc said. He watched them leave a bit reluctantly. He wanted to talk more with them but they had their own goal. He also wanted them to find their sibling. After a few months of sending letters back and forth Diluc was done for. He definitely fell for them. He was excited to get a reply from them. He normally got a letter every week. It was one of the highlights of his week. He always sent a letter back. One week nothing came. It worried him a bit. Did something happen to them. Adelinde came in after knocking. He looked up from his paper work expecting a letter from (Y/N). “Master Diluc you have a guest.” She said with a bow. “I wasn’t expecting anyone today. Who is it?” He looked at her confused. If it was Kaeya he’d throw him out. “They wanted you to come and greet them.” Adelinde gave a bow. She was hoping he wouldn’t press since Paimon asked her to not say who it was. Diluc stood up and went to greet the mysterious guest. He had a brow raised at Adelinde. He came down the stairs and saw (Y/N). He walked over with a small smile. “You’re back in Monstadt. I presume this is why I didn’t get a letter.” Diluc said patting their head. The two developed a slow and gentle relationship. Both people had to work around the other’s faults. Diluc had to deal with their shyness and they had to work with how closed off he was. There was a bit of difficulties but they worked around it together.
