i feel like this isn’t as… yandere-ish? as you probably wanted it to be, so please, if you’d like me to rewrite it, let me know. :^)

yandere diluc…

diluc is overprotective and extremely paranoid. it’s dangerous outside of mondstadt, don’t you know? oh, you want to go on a walk? wait, you want to go alone? and now, that the sun has set? no, not on his watch. be the strongest of adventurers or the weakest of citizens, diluc doesn’t see the difference; in his eyes, you’re still a fragile little thing - utterly defenseless against the big and scary monsters outside of the city’s gate, waiting for their next victims. 

you won’t hear him say it - nobody will hear him say it, but he spends hours on end worrying about your well being. thoughts of you, lost, confused and all alone somewhere without him to protect you, occupy his mind whenever you leave the safety of his tavern or winery. he doesn’t hesitate to promptly stop you, insisting you either stay the night at his place or he walks you home. diluc’s sworn to himself he’ll keep you safe even if it’s the last thing he does. he takes that promise to extremes.

his expression remains the same, but you can sense there’s an underlying tone of great worry in his voice as he keeps talking you out of your plans to go out after the midnight, or anywhere, really, where he or one of his subordinates can’t keep an eye on you.

he wishes for nothing more, than to be able to trust that you’ll be alright on your journey, but the fear of losing you always gets the better of him and he finds a way to somehow sabotage whatever it is you plan to do. whether it requires him to do the job instead of you or pay another person to do it doesn’t matter to him, as long as you stay safe.

it’d be a lie to say that you wandering around in the wild on your own is his only worry. it’s kaeya, unsurprisingly, that diluc feels could potentially harm you. seeing as him and his brother don’t exactly… get along, don’t be surprised to find diluc lashing out at him, be it because of a snarky/flirty comment directed at you, or because he simply doesn’t like the idea of kaeya being in your presence. the thing is, diluc isn’t an angry person. he never had a problem with keeping a cool head. but seeing you and kaeya together (which he sees more like kaeya bothering you) sets something inside him ablaze and ready to give his little brother what for.

he doesn’t mind other people interacting with you, though he prefers to be present when you’re in the company of somebody he doesn’t personally know. ah, to be fair, even if it’s a friend of diluc’s, he still has his suspicions. who knows, they might have evil intentions. they might be secretly working for kaeya and are trying to take you away from him. they might-

they might do a lot of things. the possibility is very slim, but diluc might confide in you, even if it’s useless; it’s not like you’ll see things from his perspective. you tell him not to dwell on these thoughts, but how can he not? they haunt him, during the day and during the night, scare him in a way nothing else has ever scared him before. pushing these thoughts aside would mean he’s one step away from failing at his task as your protector. and he won’t allow that to happen.
