pairing: Venti x reader

★You and Venti go out on adventures all the time, it’s something he likes to do with you, considering he never stays at the same place all the time.
★Although one problem was that you weren’t like him. he was an archon and sometimes, there were days where your immune system failed you, thus making you fall sick in between your escapades.
★The moment Venti finds out you’re sick, he’d drop everything, and by everything i mean your planned adventures together just so you could rest
★Venti would be worried but try and hide it behind his usual joking nature, teasing you on how easily you get sick and how he finds your repetitive sneezing adorable
★But he’d never call you weak because he knows you’re very far from that, and he himself knows it just by seeing you fight
★If you got sick from a wound, he’d make sure barbara tends to it and makes sure its healed properly, and it’d be a couple of days after that until he’d let you go out again
★Venti would definitely be protective of you, if you got sick in the middle of your journeys, he would be there holding your hands as he makes sure to stop by the closest village or town.
★“Venti, I’m sick,” you frown when he gathers your hand in his, intertwining them just because he likes it that way. your hands were clammy and you didn’t want to be a bother to him, so you hoped he would let you go so you wouldn’t slow him down
★But Venti wouldn’t have any of that; you were never a bother to him, and if he has to remind you that everyday, he gladly would.
★Venti only smiles warmly, laughing at your needless woes, “don’t you worry your head! let’s get back and put you to bed,”
★Venti is a really caring person despite his persona, if you didn’t feel like going out he’d always console you and tell you that you always come first before adventures or commissions
★Though sometimes, you were quite stubborn. especially after you purchase a “rare” treasure map from a shady merchant that Venti gets very suspicious of
★You were always naïve and that was one thing that Venti loved about you, that you never went adventuring solely to seek treasure, but because knowing that if a place with treasure, it would definitely bring the adventure and challenges with.
★Venti loves to see you get excited more than anything, but with you sneezing and coughing your lungs out every two minutes, and having to hold onto a tree so you don’t throw up every time you so much as run? there was definitely no way he was going to let you go.
★“I’m completely fine,” you mutter, although following his instructions to climb into the bed and let him take care of you. the two of you were in wangshu inn in Liyue, this time, “you worry too much,”
★“You’re not fine,” Venti sighs, cupping your face gently, only to pinch them slightly hard in a teasing manner afterwards, making you yelp, “and how can I not worry? rest, and we’ll get back out in a hurry,”
★Of course, you’d have to follow the wind archon’s requests as you knew he was only taking care of you
★And besides, the small moments in between your adventures either if you’re in an inn or a village, unintentionally waking up in the middle of the night feeling sticky and sickly just to hear Venti’s soft humming and the soft tune of the lyre, seeing him sit by the window and look outside at the moon would always make you feel thankful of him
★Knowing the two of you would always be together, and that he’d always be there to catch you when you fall
