Genshin x Huang Long

Genshin x Huang Long

Just… look at how adorable Xiangling looks here! She’s one of my absolute fave characters and her bear Guoba is too adorable. I love how its name Guoba (锅巴) means crispy rice crust, which is one of my fave snacks too. tbh playing with Xiangling on my team makes me hungry.

Anyways, I’ve digressed. This is another post on GENSHIN IRL!!!! Mihoyo has worked with local tourism authorities in China to promote certain tourist spots that were used as reference when creating the game. More specifically, they’ve worked with Huang Long 黃龍, which means yellow dragon, the place that was the basis for Luhua Pool 渌华池, my favourite area on the entire Liyue map!

(Honestly, can you even tell which image is from the game and which is the real scenery?)

Mihoyo has also highlighted how they paid special attention to the flora and fauna that actually grows in Huang Long, to serve as a basis for what wildlife to integrate into the environment in Liyue and the area around Luhua Pool. Do these “Glaze Lilies” and “Silk Flowers” look familiar?

I love how they installed teleport waypoints and geoculus at these tourist spots too! I have no idea how long these exhibits will be there, and with covid, leisure travel isn’t going to happen anytime soon, but thanks to genshin, I have another place to add to my long list of places in China that I want to visit!
