Genshin x Zhang Jia Jie

Genshin x Zhang Jia Jie

I am honestly incredibly impressed by Mihoyo’s efforts in creating Genshin, the art and the scenery is gorgeous!

Anyways, if you’ve already run around Liyue, you’d realise that the map and concept is based after China, and some of these places were designed after real places! Case in point: Jueyun Karst and Zhang Jia Jie!

Better yet, Mihoyo has been working with the local authorities (I’d assume the tourism board & stuff like that) to place Genshin Impact statues & features at these actual tourist spots to encourage players to travel and visit these beautiful landscapes in reality as well!

Found this to be really cool and it’s a pity that Mihoyo doesn’t upload some of their promo videos meant for the Chinese market on youtube :( I got some of these screenshots from their videos on their channel on BiliBili, China’s version of youtube!

Side note: I personally recommend listening to the Chinese audio in-game as they are hands-down the nicest and provide the best experience! (Save for maybe Zhongli’s voice in Japanese bc the VA is Tomoaki Maeno aka Son Hak)

Though, I would admit that I’m biased as I’m Chinese, can understand mandarin, and has consumed my fair share of Chinese Wuxia media, but the Chinese audio just makes so much more sense & flows better than any other dub. (It is, after all, developed by a Chinese company.) I know that Childe refers to a youth of noble birth, but it just… doesn’t sit right with me. It’s like… just, child. 公子 (gongzi) is what they use to refer to Childe and it’s like a polite way to say young man/sir/young master and it just flows so. much. better. At least, it’s cooler… to me at least.

But really, do play with Chinese audio when you’re in Liyue to really immerse yourself in the Chinese-inspired atmosphere!
