Crashed Weddings| Diluc | Genshin impact

I have no idea what I’ve written. Been wanting to write Diluc x reader for some time and here it is lmao Instead of sleeping I wrote dis <3

“Heard she’s getting married today.” Kaeya hummed.

The almost empty glass of wine in his hand is pressed against his lips. He gazed at his red-haired step brother with amusement. His eyes trail down to the paused hand that was polishing the glass cups.

“Is that so?” Diluc replied blandly. “Good for her.”

The pyro user continued his task in a slow speed before placing down the cup on the wooden counter. He looked at his brother briefly and he turned away to pour juice in his cup. Is Kaeya trying to anger him? It won’t work. You deserve all the happiness in the world—something he couldn’t provide.

The bluenette hummed a soft run as swirled the wine in his hand. He knows it’s a dangerous game playing into this territory. It’s a sensitive topic that no one is allowed to talk about. But Kaeya is a man who knows no boundaries.

“It’s an arranged marriage. Her parents are marrying her off to some rich merchant in Liyue.” Kaeya mused. “But the venue is nearby…”

“Get to the point, Kaeya.” Diluc gritted his teeth.

“You still love her and Y/N still loves you too.” Kaeya pointed out. “You’d be a heartless man letting Y/N get married into a loveless marriage—let alone with a stranger.”

Diluc’s whole frame stilled at his words.

A heartless man could let you be happy, Diluc reasoned. The whole point of distancing himself from you was so that you could be happy. You’d find someone better than him—someone who could love you. He expected you to marry someone who you truly loved and would be happy with. He definitely didn’t expect you to allow yourself to get tangled into an arranged marriage. (Which was a bit hypocritical since the both of you were in one before the death of his father.) He didn’t expect your parents to shove into the arms of a stranger.

Then again, they’ve always prioritized wealth over your own happiness.

“I’m not a heartless man.” He muttered.

“Hm, is that so? Then do something about the wedding.” Kaeya smirked.

“What can I even do? I’m sure Y/N doesn’t want anything to do with me.” Diluc sighed. “I don’t even have an invitation…”

“You won’t know until you try.” His step-brother reasoned. “And don’t worry, I stole one!”

Diluc stared at Kaeya, unimpressed and annoyance.

“What do you plan on getting out of this?”

“What ulterior motives do you think I’d want? Other than seeing you happy, brother? Absolutely nothing!

Kaeya feigned hurt and placed his hand above his heart. Maybe the rare aged wine you’d be serving peaked his interest. Or perhaps he just wants to win the bet he has ongoing with Jean and Venti. After all, 50,000 mora is no joke.

Diluc didn’t look too convinced but doesn’t bother to pry. He sets the dry and clean glasses back into their place inside the cabinets.

“Charles, can you take over for now? I have matters to attend to.”

“Of course, sir. Good luck with Lady Y/N.” The older bartender smiled.

Diluc’s eyes widened momentarily and his cheeks along with his ears flush multiple shades of red. He nods at him and hastily rushed out of the bar. He could hear Kaeya barking with laughter and he sends him a brief glare to shut him up.

“Hurry up and take me to the venue.” Diluc scowled.

“So impatient!” Kaeya chuckled.

Within time, the two step-siblings find their way into the wedding venue that’s decorated with white and gold. Diluc sucked his breath as the image of you in a beautiful dress that wraps your figure perfectly greets him. Your standing at the altar with a disinterested yet solemn expression. The groom was a much older man who looked proud scoring someone so young, beautiful, and rich.

Your beautiful. So fucking beautiful.

“"If any of you has a reason why these two should not be married, speak now or forever hold your peace.“ The minister announced.

Kaeya nudged Diluc’s ribs and pushed him forward. He gives him a bit of an impatient look and mouthed ‘hurry.’ Diluc swallowed thickly and cleared his throat in the middle of the aisle between the two separate families.

“Wait! Y/N…” He began.

You snapped your head towards the audience and your eyes widened at the sight of the tall pyro user. Your groom narrowed his eyes at Diluc who strided a little closer to the altar. You take a peek at your parents who stare at the redhead man with shock.

You’ve missed him terribly. You longed for him every minute of every day.

“I need to tell you something… I love you, I still do. You made me happy and I never stopped thinking about you. I made the mistake of pushing you away when my father died. I was just afraid that you’d end up leaving or like father. I thought you’d be better and happy without me.” Diluc said.

Your eyes glistened with tears at his words and you pull away from your fiancé. You could tell Diluc was nervous with the way his voice trembled. He was never truly comfortable expressing his feelings. But it was a trait you didn’t hate.

You had been angry at him for pushing you away. For deciding everything for you when he didn’t know half of what you were thinking or feeling.

“T-That I would be better off being alone and bitter. But I was wrong. I’m not better off and I know you aren’t happy either, dove! You mean everything to me and even if you don’t love mean anymore—I know damn well you don’t want to get married today. Please… don’t deal your fate today just because of what your parents want.”

“Y/N,” Your parents hissed. “Don’t be stupid!”

“If you go with him the deal is off!” Your fiancé scowled.

Diluc had been right. You didn’t want to get married today. You want to get married on your own terms and for love! You wanted to marry Diluc. You’ve always had. You wiped the fresh tears on your cheeks with your palm and you stare at Diluc straight in his scarlet eyes. (Oh, how you love them so much).

“I-I want to come home, Diluc!” You cried. “I don’t want to get married! Not unless it’s with you!”

You gripped your long dress and rushed towards your ex-lover with soft sniffles leaving you. You ignore the angry and embarrassed shouts from your parents and fiancé. Diluc wraps his long limbs around you and he hugs you so tightly. You breathe in the familiar scent that you’ve missed dearly. He still wore the same cologne, you mused.

“Let’s go home, Y/N..” Diluc smiled softly.

He’s going to do things right this time. And he’s going to be the one to marry you. He’ll make sure of that.

Meanwhile by the bar, Kaeya lifted a glass of the rare wine he had been interested in drinking in the air. His lips are lifted into a slight smirk and he chuckled. He grabbed a bottle of the wine and stuffed it inside his jacket.

“Ah, what an idiot. It seems Venti and Jean now owe me 50,000 mora.”
