Okay I’m sorry but chili hc: (kinda angsty)
So hc that everytime Childe has to go out on a mission for the Tsaritsa, Zhongli always gives Childe all his money that he has on him. (Which tbh might not be that much) Childe doesn’t know why but accepts it since he thinks it’s just a cute parting gift. But NO Childe finally asks Zhongli why he does this and Zhongli replies with
“If you were to die I would never be able to repay you for what you have done to me and how much you mean to me. I know too many people who have left me and I didn’t realize it was the last time I would see them. You mean too much to me for me to just idly sit by as I watch you leave knowing it could be the last time I ever saw you.”
And Childe is understandably shocked.
I have made myself sad I’m so sorry.
