You had one secret. You’re a wandering God from Celestia that even your childhood friend, Ajax also known as Tartaglia, didn’t know about.

Years ago, the time you descended from Celestia was the time you met Tartaglia who was still a child at the time. He was an energetic and carefree child that you were so drawn to him, you disguised yourself as a child, changing your appearance like you were normally growing to adulthood as he did just to be with him.

But now that he has finally grown up and became one of the Fatui Harbingers, you believed those days of innocence were no longer. Still, you visited him everyday in the Tsaritsa’s palace to send him lunch or gifts, anything that could lift his mood even he had no longer time to see you. It came to the point that you had to leave the lunch you brought for him in his office and go home without even seeing him. Well, you didn’t really mind. It’s not like you had anything else to do too.

However, today was different. You were called back to Celestia and you at least wanted to see him before you finally leave because there will be a possibility that you might never come back to Teyvat. But by the time you entered his office, you froze when you were welcomed with a glare. That’s when you noticed that there was another person in the room who seems to be an officer.

It looked like they were having an important conversation but you were unaware. The guards didn’t even stopped you from entering so you thought that it was fine. Or maybe the guards were just so used to your presence that they didn’t even bother to stop you, thinking that it would be okay. But the expression Tartaglia had in his face was saying that you entering without permission is definitely far from okay.

“Please excuse me for a moment,” His cold voice telling the female official.

You lowered your head facing him outside his office. When you were about to open your mouth to apologize, he said words you never thought would come out of his mouth.

“You’re being a nuisance, y/n. Please don’t come here ever again.”

You understood. Maybe it’s because of stress that’s why he said those hurtful words. You just happened to come at the wrong time. Or maybe… you just never really understood where you stand in his life. But you still needed to bid him farewell. Even though it has come to this, it’s still proper to say goodbye, most especially because you know that you might never be able to see him again. Both of you still shared great memories after all.

“I-I’m leaving…” you uttered.

He looked down at you with mocking eyes, “Great.”

You watched him walk back to his office, the door slamming shut in front of you. You knew that he misunderstood you. Maybe he only thought that the two of you will still see each other. But you didn’t try to stop him. It was enough. You didn’t want to hold him back any longer.

You smiled beautifully. This kind of occurrence wasn’t new to you. This is just one of those passing moments. People do come and go and as a wandering immortal God, you understood the meaning of that phrase very well. The childhood memories you formed with him were nothing but a play to you in which you had your part to perform. Just a small performance to kill the endless time you have in your hands.

But now, the play has finally ended. The ending was a beautiful but painful parting. You huffed, it could’ve been worse. You also hoped to see the Tsaritsa once more but you already spent your remaining free time on Tartaglia. Nah, unlike him, you’d still get to see her.

You turned around, finally ready to leave the scene.

“Goodbye, Ajax. I… had fun.”

A month has passed and Tartaglia could finally take a breather. He just got from Liyue to take care of some urgent matter but now, after reporting to the Tsaritsa, he was given a week long day off. It’s also been a month since he last saw you and now that he’s back in Snezhnaya, he suddenly remembered you.

He scratched the back of his head with a sad expression, remembering your last meeting with him. He knew that he was being harsh but he was so pressured at the time that he needed to lash out at somebody. Guilt crept in his chest as he thought of a gift for an apology. To think that he even let a month pass but it couldn’t be helped.

Ah, food! You always liked food! A Snezhanyan specialty should do the trick.

But when he arrived at your home, dark and abandoned, he unconsciously dropped the food on the dusty wooden floor. The house was empty and it was evident that it has been a long time since anyone has ever stepped in it. The furnitures were all covered in white cloth, he spotted cobwebs on the ceiling and dust covered the bare spots of the house.

“Ah, Ajax… it’s been a long time…”

His attention diverted to the old man walking towards him. He remembered that he was the one who lives nearby, giving the both of you snacks when you were both still children.

He looked at him with a shocked expression, “Where… is she?”

The man glanced at the house, “Didn’t she tell you? She already left. Exactly a month ago.”
