Caliber

Caliber

(A small moment)

{This has been brewing in my mind for the last few days and I wanted to get it out before anything else.}

Song recommendation: Fire Bending Training- Legend Of Korra

You trained and trained till your lungs ached from the quick breaths you drew in. You broke away from castle dimitrescu to clear your heart and head of a lingering thought. ‘Why can’t I formulate my words around her?!’ You screamed to yourself mentally.

Being summoned to the castle to simply help a old family friend was one thing but to be so quickly attracted to her ladyship was another hurdle you would gladly climb over. You knew how to wield a sword, steady and grounded. The form to take when guarding and offensive verses free and defensive.

You couldn’t formulate words but you could formulate movements. Patterns to walk in and slashes of your rapier and Swiss Sabre to make deep wounds as well as light cuts to the trees you practiced on. ‘Focus sol, remember your roots and center yourself to your main point.’ You spoke softly to yourself.

You were off center, distracted, disoriented even but you weren’t gone. No, you were still alive and heart flushed with young blood. Blood of a lineage of duel users. You took a deep breath into your lungs, letting the harsh mountain air flow within you and you heard it. The fast beat of your young heart and your center of focus.

‘You are the caliber of the sun and the burning of passion sol, never forget the dance of the sun for you are it’s walker’ the voice whispered within. As swift as your exhaled, your body moved forward quickly and slashed your swords into the tree.

As it fell to the snow covered ground you could hear the birds fly away and the rushing of footsteps. ‘Your potential is endless like the feelings you have for the lady of the castle.’ The faintest of whispering was heard in your ear.

“By Mother Miranda grace and wings!” Alcina’s voice pierced your train of thought. You turned expecting to be yelled at for breaking away and scolded for the damage you caused in her lady’s forest, yet none reached you except for the warmest of smiles and praise to your ears.

“Your caliber is yet to be seen in a vampire of the decade sol, you blow me away with your abilities and use of swords.” Alcina spoke truthfully and you smiled at her with blush across your cheeks.
