OKAY GET READY FOR KHAEN’RIAH HEADCANONS CAUSE I JUST FINISHED THE ARCHON QUEST. THERE WILL BE SPOILERS

At this point, I’m definitely going with the idea that Khaen’riah was a Tower of Babel situation: built entirely by humans with the arrogance of gods (the alchemist Gold was probably involved tbh). I don’t think we should feel pity for the fact the gods smited it because hello?? Weapons made to ‘till’ other people from the earth? Jesus Christ that’s bad enough I don’t wanna imagine what they were attempting to do that invoked the wrath of the Seven (that being said, let’s not forsake the fact many innocent people probably died, so yeah, the gods aren’t totally off the hook).

However, there’s still the fact Venti and Zhongli, characters we know and love, apparently helped destroy this country. Except… I don’t think they did. Venti woke up recently in the beginning of the game; I can’t remember how long he had been asleep for (and if we do know how long he had slept for this theory can be disregarded a little) but for all we know, he was asleep when Khaen’riah was destroyed. Zhongli, while totally capable of destroying Khaen’riah, probably didn’t because he didn’t want to be involved with matters outside of Liyue. We know that 5 out of the original Seven Archons are dead; could it be possible they perished during the destruction of Khaenri’ah?

Also: how the fuck does Kaeya fit into this?? Is Khaen’riah still present? Is there a time dilation going on? Is he coming from the Abyss Order? I do not know what to expect coming forward but it’s looking good!
