so genshin twitter is calling out mihoyo bc of colorist views, use of indigenous dances, pedophilia, the lack of dark skinned characters, etc. under the hashtag #boycottgenshin

which is great! we should definitely call out mihoyo on this because these issues/problems definitely aren’t okay. We should all acknowledge and be aware the ugly problems shown in Genshin Impact. If you do not see the issues in this game or don’t think there are any problems with this game—well, i don’t know what to tell you buddy because there are issues.

However, i dont think they understand the meaning of “BOYCOTT.they’re not necessarily boycotting the game but simply calling them out. i think they should use a different hashtag because… a lot of the users that are using this hashtag are still technically supporting genshin whether it’s having a character as a profile pic or still being a genshin related account.

Boycotting genshin would mean:

  • refusing to play the game again
  • logging off
  • deleting the game

If you see this hashtag and you feel guilty for not really “boycotting,” it’s fine. There’s nothing wrong with logging on to play and enjoying whatever content Mihoyo releases. What’s not okay is simply ignoring and refusing to acknowledge the issues that are circulating around (e.g. Xinyan, a dark skinned character, being viewed as scary).

All in all, we should definitely call out Mihoyo because a lot of these problems that are brought up/noticed are not acceptable.
