i think it’s really amazing that zhongli can manage to still be so kind and loving even after years of being an Archon, where he was subject to seeing the ugly and shitty side present in humanity

that doesn’t mean that zhongli is perfect of course, but still - it’s undeniable that he cares so much for his people, and the idea of it genuinely moves me to tears

i don’t know how people can imagine him to be cruel, or cold, or unfeeling - when it has been shown time and time again that he prioritises the wellbeing of his people over his own

what is love if not selfless duty to your nation? is it not wanting to see them happy? to see them succeed on their own mortal feet?

i initially loved him for his appearance, but i stayed because zhongli is such a nuanced and complex character and to reduce him to a cruel entity feels so alienating to me

like sure, you can envision him like that, but it’s a genuine disservice when you begin to treat headcanon as lore
