Kaeluc Shippers: Abominations Spreading a Plague?!

Kaeluc Shippers: Abominations Spreading a Plague?!

Hello, Travelers.

There seems to be some discourse going on, regarding Kaeya x Diluc shipping. I don’t ship it myself, but I’d like to defend those that do.

There may be very few Kaeluc shippers here, because they’ve been scared off by the anti-Kaeluc trolls. There may only be two Kaeluc shippers on this entire site. But with almost the entire world being trapped in an apocalypse, with so many people losing so many liberties and their livelihoods, with so many people afraid to celebrate Thanksgiving with their families this year, I’d like to defend the ship.

I may lose followers for this. I may lose followers I’ve had for a while, now. I hope I do not lose my dearest supporters for this, but at the same time, with so much devastation going on during this apocalypse, I do not support the idea of people being slammed over a fictional ship-with TWO CONSENTING ADULTS. Fictional ships are comfort blankets. They comfort us, uplift us, give us fan art and fanfiction to look forward to. They warm us when the world around us is freezing cold. And as of right now, so much of the world has gone cold.

Besides, most of Tumblr is young anyway. My follower count does not matter to me in the slightest. Especially since I know the vast majority of Tumblr is solely invested in reblogged fan art, and it’s so easy to follow a blog, then ignore it for the remainder of one’s Tumblr time.

‘Ewwww, you’re supporting INCEST’, a troll or two will say. ‘They’re brothers! You’re disgusting!’ Okay, well, I’m writing this and honestly feel there are far greater calamities in this world, than Kaeya and Diluc shipping. If they were blood brothers, the ship would be a little too kinky for me, and I’d just leave well enough alone. But being adopted/honorary/kinda sorta brothers isn’t enough for me to condemn the ship, or those that do ship it. Even with Kaeya referring to Crepus as ‘Father’. The ship is not causing physical harm to anyone in the real world, so those that ship it should not be condemned to a fiery grave. The ship isn’t burning down anyone’s house, isn’t making anyone sick, isn’t ushering in the end of the world and isn’t inflicting PTSD on anyone that simply wants to celebrate the holiday season with loved ones.

‘All that stuff is different’, you say. ‘Real world events have NOTHING to do with this ship! Who cares about the pandemic or Thanksgiving? You’re supporting this ship, and you’re SICK’. But supporting this ship means supporting incest, right? It means supporting real-life incest, right? By condemning those that ship Kaeluc, you’re saying they’re supporting incestuous, real-life relationships. So, if we abide by this logic, all writers are rapists and murderers because of how we torment our characters.

We’re sadists, masochists, pedophiles and every other horrific term you can think of. Because what we do in the Fictional World applies to what we do in the Real World. By saying Kaeluc shippers support real-life incest, you’re saying writers and artists are murderers, sadists and rapists. So by that logic, I’m a first class felon. I honestly shouldn’t even be here writing this.

‘But you don’t even ship it’, anti-Kaeluc trolls will tell me. I don’t want to, but not because of their bond as brothers. It’s because of how mainstream it is. Maybe not on Tumblr, but on Twitter and Archive of our Own. Kaeya is either shipped with Diluc, or with no one at all. Diluc is shipped with Kaeya, Jean, or no one at all. I don’t enjoy safe ships. So while it’s not one of my ships, I don’t enjoy knowing people have probably been spooked out of posting about it here, because of Tumblr Trolls.

So. In summary:

• By saying Kaeluc shippers support incest, you’re saying all writers and artists are murderers, rapists and all other forms of abominations.

• I do not ship Kaeluc. However, I do not support Kaeluc shippers being condemned to a fiery grave.

• There’s so much devastation and tragedy going on this year. Kaeluc shipping isn’t on the list of 2020 Tragedies. Let people enjoy the ship. There may only be five Kaeluc shippers left on Tumblr.

Let all Kaeluc shippers enjoy it. And let there be peace.
