I really like where Genshin is going, but idk man I would have just really liked it if there was more going on with Childe. Yeah he’s manipulative as shit and our enemy, why don’t we help him please his little brother? More tension in between him and the traveler would really be welcomed.
I don’t know. Genshin just set up this really great villain and decided to just have him be our friend. Yeah we might have to kill the Harbingers when the time comes, but for now he’s our friend and that really sets me off since ya know he stands in the way of our goal.
I really wanted Childe to die and get the traveler to question is they’re even doing the right thing anymore. The traveler also just goes along with everything, they never really question if what they’re doing is right anymore. It might be a bit early for that, but I’d love to see the traveler really question everything. Do they really need to tear down an entire kingdom to reach their goal? Do they need to stop other people from achieving their goals to achieve their own?
I guess what I’m trying to say is characterize the traveler more and maybe get Childe to be the bad guy??? It’d just be nice.
I do love what they’ve done recently with Zhongli willingly giving up is position as archon though. I was expecting him to be unwilling to cooperate but I think his cooperation makes it even better. He’s tired of immortality, and I really love how they portrayed the gods like that. They’re not this unmovable unbending force of nature, they have feelings and probably want something other than what fate already had planned for them. Divine beings have one purpose and no choice, mortals can choose. Genshin did a good job of showing that.
Going the other way and having Zhongli try and fight to keep his city and power could have been equally interesting, but I feel like that would really only work if he was actually close with Childe. But he isn’t really and so him getting betrayed by nothing more than his sort of business partner would have been less impactful.
Also this is just me praying but I REALLY WANT SCYTHES IN GENSHIN IMPACT. That would just be so cool. I know it’s probably not gonna happen, but it’d just be so cool. I’d also add skins for the characters onto my genshin wish list, they did it with Honkai impact so I wouldn’t be surprised if they did it with Genshin too. But considering how many characters there are and will be in the future, idk if skins are gonna be a thing.
So there are my thoughts on Genshin impact regarding what has been happening lately and I’m really exited for 1.2 even though I know my ipad storage disagrees with me XD
