ugh i really wish they capitalized more on the childe/ajax parallel because ajax was like a warrior who threw his entire life into battle and when he got nothing out of it (maybe because fighting is inherently destructive and not constructive) he was left empty and went crazy and cursed the world. like ajax is a true sophoclean tragic hero who grew up in a fucked up world and got a fucked up worldview and followed that convinction until it ate away his existence so that his story just ends with teucer burying him. it has such good villain-motive potential and i’m just big disappoint that childe didn’t end up actually having a ton of parallels with ajax other than just liking battle. there was such a good tragedy there
