content of the request: Hey I loveeeee ur headcannons, and I wanted to ask if u could do one with Xiao or Kaeya (or one for each) where they’ve had a really bad day and their s/o is there to comfort them? tons of fluff~
[I was also supposed to do Kaeya’s but Xiao got long so I’ll just seperate ice boy’s.]
- “Xiao…? Why are you here?”
- It was quite unusual to see the mighty adepti standing by the foot of your home. He didn’t tell you in advance about it. He would usually tell you beforehand.
- Although, it feels like you already know the reason why as you could tell by the look on his face that he had a bad day. His usual nonchalant and calm expression was replaced with an exhausted one as if all his energy was drained after what happened to him today.
- “Can I come in?”
- “Oh, right.”
- Even the tone of his voice was low as a whisper yet thankfully, you were able to hear it. You stepped aside and let him enter, he immediately went to your couch and threw himself there. He made himself feel at home and relaxed, letting out a heavy sigh as he closed his eyes. He didn’t say anything and just remained silent. You, on the other hand, stared at him for a few seconds before walking towards his direction and sat on his lap.
- Bold move, to be honest, but he didn’t mind.
“Care to tell me about your day?” You say, cupping his cheeks gently in your hands. He still has his eyes closed and his face was slightly close to yours. You stared at the mark on his forehead, resisting the urge to poke it. There was a small smile planted on your lips as you spoke in a gentle tone, your voice was soothing and calming as it rang in his ears.
He hummed before responding to you, placing his hands around your waist before he pulled you close towards him and he rested his forehead against your collarbone, the part near your neck. “I just had a horrible day, that’s all.” His voice sounded low and gentle, almost a hum to the wind. It was slightly inaudible but you were able to understand what he was trying to say. Your hand made its way to his hair to play with it as your other hand is on his back, giving him pats.
“I see, what happened this time?”
“Hilichurls, Abyss Mages, Slimes, and such. Although they are pretty easy to kill, they were annoying. Aside from that, mortals.”
You twirled strands of his hair on your finger as you listened to him, comforting him as he was in your arms and having a sweet moment together. You only hummed a random gentle tune, in hopes that it will also help him to which it really did as you felt him slowly relax in your hold. His breathing became calm and slow, his breath fanning your skin and slightly tickling it.
Unconsciously, you started singing. Your voice penetrating the silence that filled the room. Xiao only remained silent, listening to your voice that was lulling him to sleep.
“So kiss me, so gently,
Touch me soft,
Love me sweet,
I am bruised, but
I’m not broken,
I’ve got more to
lose,
Don’t let it be you.”
The melody danced as you two were just sitting on the couch, being in each other’s hold, as you spent this sweet and soft with him. You continued to play with his hair as your other hand rested on his back, you kept him close and secured in your arms.
“One last time,
One last kiss for me,
Hating’s blind,
I wanted to see.”
When you finished, you could only hear the sound of his breathing along with some light snores. He was completely relaxed and calm in your arms, not saying anything at all and not even moving.
“Ah, he fell asleep.”
