- Xiao would have a hard time trying to bond and understand his children. He’ll come off as scary to his own children.
- Well, that’s not his intentions, to be honest. He just somehow distant himself from his children because he’s afraid that he’ll do something wrong which will make them hate him.
- Man, even when his s/o tried to made him hold a baby. He was scared. He held it so gently yet with fear. He knows how fragile mortals are especially babies.
- Xiao wouldn’t be sweet nor doting towards them, he’s just nonchalant and calm.
- “Can I go out to play?”
- “…Yeah, sure.”
- However, he’s also protective. He would like to hide his children forever. But he doesn’t want to be strict towards them or make them feel like they’re a bird in cage, their actions limited and such. He’ll just let them be expecting that they know their limits.
- He’s just afraid that something bad might happen to them and he’ll end up losing them forever.
- Whenever his children would go out to play, he’ll secretly follow them and watch them from afar.
- There is this one time that they went close to a hilichurl camp and grabbed the attention of the enemies, he immediately rushed to their side and protected them.
- “Dad!”
- “Father!”
- Although he has to keep them far away from the camp or else, they might also be harmed since collateral damage is hard to avoid when he’s fighting. The battle lasted for a few minutes before he came back to them, unharmed and somehow angry.
- “What were you doing? Getting close to a hilichurl camp! You’re just trying to get yourselves killed! [Name] is going to kill me for letting you be.”
- And now he has to deal with them crying. The only few ways that he knows to calm them down is to play with them and take them to places or sceneries. Xiao came back home tired and exhausted as he carried one of them and held their hands.
- Well, because of that, he got close to his children and was able to bond with them. His children now know that he secretly follows them every time they go out to play so they always look for their father when they go outside. It’s like they are just playing hide and seek.
- Xiao tries his best to understand his children and become close with them. He’s working on being a great father towards them.
