Sighing to yourself, you look up at the clouds, taking in how clear the sky was today before looking back down to the document you were signing. The pen in your hands begin to move again, neatly signing your name.

Y/n, you pause, almost going back to the habit of writing your maiden last name, before writing the last name you had to get used to writing now, ’Kamisato.’

While scribbling away, you didn’t notice someone staring at you from afar until light footsteps stop just a good distance from you.

“Y/n, dear.” Your face that held an irritated expression immediately disappeared as you slowly look up at the direction of the voice.

Would you come here for a bit?”

Granny Furuta,” you say a bit surprised, as you stood up, “do you need anything? Maybe a cup of water, you’re free to take a break from gardening.” Leaving your spot at the table, you quickly rush over, worry all over your face as you led her to take a seat on the porch.

She can’t but chuckle as you quickly think of something, “you can rest and I’ll deal with the gardening today!” You say, a grin on your face as you quickly head over but she stops you.

I’m fine, but putting too much stress on yourself could affect the both of you.” She says as you sit down beside her.

“…” Averting your eyes away as you bite your bottom lip as she continues.

“I can see how troubled you are…”

You glance down at the ring on your finger, “don’t fret too much, it’s only been two months since you married Young Ayato, no need to prove yourself worthy of being here.” You sigh, closing your eyes, feeling a wave of dizziness suddenly hit you.

Everyone here already adores you,” she finishes off as you felt much better, not thinking too much of it as you look at her, a smile now present on your lips.

You’re both still young, take it step by step after all, we’re all here to help and support you two in leading this clan. That’s all I wanted to tell you since I’ve noticed how hard you push yourself.”

She smiles at you as you grip her hands gently and she gives you a squeeze of reassurance that everything will work out in the end.

“Just know, he truly loves you, no matter what.” Your eyes immediately tear up at this, “he’ll always stay by your side.” Yet those tears refused to fall while taking a deep breath.

“I know.”

After a few minutes of silence and finding comfort in the elder woman was you always saw as a grandma, you stood up as you help her up.

“Well, I have work to finish up, you go ahead and finish yours.” Nodding your head, you give her another smile before she walks away slowly.

Turning around and wiping the tears away, you begin to walk back to the table before another wave of dizziness hits you hard as you stop in your tracks, shutting your eyes.

A hand gripping the bridge of your nose, trying to wait out the feeling as you take a step forward only to groan, feeling like you lost your balance.

Furuta hears a thump and looks back to see what caused it only to see you laying on the floor, unconscious.

Her eyes widen at this as she immediately looks around to see if anyone can get to you faster.

Toda!” She shouts in worry as soon as she spots the Shrine Maiden walk in, talking to one of the guards.

The girl looks at her, confused, “Toda! You need to help Y/n, she’s collapsed.” The brown haired girl quickly looks in your direction before running to your aid with Furuta approaching slowly.

Is My Lord here?” Toda asks but Futura shakes her head, “no, he went to a meeting and took Thoma with him. We need to get her inside and call the doctor immediately.”

She was worried your health was acting up again but you didn’t show any signs except for the ones she saw…..

Opening your eyes slowly, you hear your name being called making you look to the side to see Tomo.

You’re finally awake, how do you feel?” He asks as you try to sit up only to be stopped by him. “Lay down for now.”

“..Tomo?” Your voice is quiet as you try to remember what happen but it’s a blur.

He lets out a dry chuckle, “I came back from adventuring with my friend only to find you collapsed outside.” His voice is full of worry as you let out a tiny groan.

What… happened?”

He shrugs his shoulders, “Can’t say I know, the doctor will be here so just stay still.”

Kazuha stood in front of the room you walked into hours ago, concern of your silence in there yet he could not find it in himself to knock.

It’s been a couple hours since the scene with your father, just like you requested, he stayed inside and let you do all the talking.

So many emotions you felt as the doctor stood beside you, holding a clip board in one arm while the other rested by her side. Eyes filled with fear as you take in her words from moments prior.

“Congratulations on your pregnancy,” she gives you a gentle smile as you sat there stunned, almost mortified at the thought of carrying a child at your young age.

A-are you sure? Maybe the results came back wrong!” You try to argue but the doctor shakes her head, making you quiet as you look down, trying to process all this.

The doctor looks over at Tomo, who was seat beside the bed, he nods at her before she bows her head, “excuse me, I hope you a healthy pregnancy, I’ll be coming a few times to check up on you.”

You nod, twiddling your thumbs as she walks out the door, closing the door behind her and you finally look up, startling Tomo at the sight of your teary eyes.

H-hey, what’s wrong?!” He wraps his arms around as you begin to sob quietly, shaking as he frowns, closing his eyes as he hugs you close. “It’s gonna be fine.”

He tries to reassure you but it doesn’t really help as you continue to cry and it didn’t look like you would stop anytime. As you continued to sob, he pats your back.

He knew you didn’t exactly have the best childhood, your mother dying when you were so young while your father married his other woman, and they made your life hell til you finally married off to Ayato.

I’m scared….” You finally confessed, “what if I…..I’m not a good mom and end up like my step mother?”

Tomo pulled back, looking at you for a brief moment before pinching the sides of your face as you sob out, either of being afraid or pain from his pinching.

You are nothing like that witch, and I’m sure Ayato will agree.” He says as you open your eyes to look at him, tears still rolling down your face as he talks.

“You got this, I’m sure of it. I mean, you basically the strongest woman I know and you have so many people who love and support you, no matter what happens.”

Tomo finishes off only to jump at the sight of your crocodile tears coming back, “Tomo!” You cry as you flung yourself at him, wrapping into a tight hug as he let out a loud groan from the lack of air you knocked out of him.

Staring at the empty crib with familiar, muddy eyes, you feel the empty feeling once again like all those years ago

Instead of ordering someone to set up the room, crib, everything any newborn room would need, Ayato wanted to do it himself. Spending any of his free time to building the crib, failing a few times and painting the walls…

You sigh, those were good days indeed, now, it felt like a dream.

Ayato takes the pen out your hand as you look up at him confused as he shakes his head.

you need to resting,” he says. It’s been a couple days since you told him the news and he promised he would take good care of you. Luckily, you weren’t quite bombarded with congratulations since only you, Ayato and Tomo knew.

You two decided to have a small gathering with close friends, still haven’t decided the day since you’re still busy with work.

Ayato, I’m fine.” You try to calm him down but he shook his head, a tiny smile visible on his lips as he takes the stacks of papers that were waiting to be signed.

“I can do these myself, just focus on resting for day and if you really want to help me out,” he pats your head, “how about telling Ayaka the big news?”

He sits down beside you, holding your hands in his, “she’ll be thrilled.” Your face slightly flush at seeing how his face glowed, to think you were nervous to see how he would react to the news.

After giving you a hug, you walk out the room and went looking for the little girl.

Tomo was right about that.’ you think to yourself, wondering around to find Ayaka. Usually you’ll find her in her room but nowadays she seems interested in sword training, peeking outside, there she was, swinging her wooden sword in the air.

Watching her for a moment, you start to think, a distant look on your face as you stood there.

She and Ayato had lost their parents at a young age and you tried to be there for them both. She always felt like the younger sister you never had.

‘Promise me, you’ll look after them.’

Their mother’s last wishes echoes in your mind before snapping out of it.

“Y/n? Why are you standing here?” You look to the side to see Thoma there, a worried look on his face as he stares at you, waiting for an answer.

You look away, returning your gaze to Ayaka. “Just watching her train, I am going to have an important talk with her soon.” Explaining, Thoma hums.

“You seem tired these days, you’re not sick are you?”

You shake your head, “no, I’m fine.” Seeing as Ayaka stopped to catch her breathe, you quickly decide to head over. “I’ll go speak with her right now.”

Carefully making your way to her, she doesn’t notice you until you spoke up. Ayaka looks up to see you holding the towel she put to the side. “Y/n?”

Giving her a smile, you raise the towel a bit, “I need to speak with you, is that alright?”

Staring at the blue blanket that has yet to be used, you feel a burning sensation in your throat the longer you stare before a sniff is heard, burying your face into the blanket.

Today was nothing out of the ordinary, Ayato was out with Mei, a new friend you made a couple days ago when she came to deliver a few books you ordered.

You wanted to go get them yourself but due to being pregnant, Ayato wanted to make sure you stayed in and asked for someone, Mei, to bring them to you instead.

Humming to yourself, you continue reading until a cup of water is set on the table in front of you, “here you go,” smiling at Thoma, you thank him.

Luckily no one noticed your state, beside Ayato, Ayaka, Tomo and Granny Furuta, the blonde standing over your seated self hadn’t noticed quite yet. Finishing the page you were on, you grab the cup, taking tiny sips before flipping the page.

Why don’t you sit down, you must be tired from working.” You suggest Thoma, setting the empty cup down as you look up at him.

Can I? I still have work to finish….”

It’ll only be for a moment, relax a bit,” he thinks over your words before giving in. “Alright, just for a few minutes though.”

You grin at him, as he sighs, but sends a smile back. Thoma fills up the empty cup and another one for himself.

“I want to help Mei become a writer,” you start off, “although I’m not quite sure how to do that, any suggestions?” Looking over at Thoma who thinks.

Well, she is a writer but it seems like no matter how much she submits, it never catches the attention of Miss Yae.” You mumble, pondering on what to do. A writer, it seems exciting to you, being able to come up with stories and things like that and you had to have quite the imagination for it, one you simply don’t have unfortunately.

You gasp, “I know,” this catches Thoma’s attention, “remember that singer from Liyue, the last time she was here I spoke to her over a cup of tea.”

His face lights up, “oh! Miss Eden! What about her?”

“Well,” you remember the conversation you had with her roughly two years ago, “I can get Mei to write a novel based on her, Miss Eden—”

Your head suddenly begins to hurt badly, making you stop mid sentence, holding the side of your head, letting out a groan before feeling a sharp pain coming from your stomach.

But just as it comes it passes as you let out a shaky sigh, “Are you feeling okay?” Thoma notices, standing up abruptly, “do I need to get my Lord?”

“N-no, I’m fine.” You say, feeling lightheaded as Ayaka appears behind Thoma.

Oh I was wondering where you two were. I thought Y/n would be with Ayato today.” She says, Thoma shakes his head at this. Crossing his arms.

No, My Lord said that my lady has to rest. Is there an important festival coming up that requires Y/n to be rested up?” He asks, pouring Ayaka a cup of water before handing it to.

She hums, drinking it as Thoma looks back at you.

“Y/n, is there a special occasion—” His eyes widened at the sight of you laying on the floor, unconscious and he rushes over.

“Y/n!”

Ayaka watches in horror as Thoma falls to the floor just a couple steps from where you laid, the cup she’s holding drops from her hands as she trembles in fear.

“Thoma! Y/n!” She screams as you and Thoma begin to cough up blood.

Standing up, wiping your face with your sleeve and opening the door to leave only to see Kazuha standing there, quiet as you two stare at each other.

You give him a tiny smile, he could see how tired you were as you nod your head at him, “tomorrow we’ll be meeting with someone, is that alright with you?”

You ask with the softest tone, “yes.” He answers.

“I’ll get a room ready for you.” Gesturing him with a hand, he begins to walk ahead as you close the door shut but you didn’t see how he had a chance to see inside.

Yet he doesn’t say anything as you lead him to a guest bedroom.

“Who do you have in mind?” He asks once you two reach your destination.

“A detective, I’m sure you know him.” You grin at him before saying your goodnights.

“Due to the amount of water consumed with the poison, your wife has lost the child.” Ayato looks at the doctor with a blank look but she knows that he was very angry and tries to keep himself calm for the sake of appearances.

I’m sorry, Lord Kamisato.” The doctor says, sighing as see looks over at his wife.

If she and Thoma had drank more of the poison water, I’m afraid…..” She didn’t even finish her sentence and Ayato knew what she was trying to say.

Luckily, your sister isn’t in harm’s way but I’ll be giving her medicine for any discomforts she may have.”

When the doctor retreated back to her temporarily room given to her monitor the well being of the three who were poisoned.

Stepping out of the room, one of his ninjas appears, kneeling before him and waiting for his orders.

Find who ever caused this and bring them to me.” He states as the ninja nods. “No one is allowed to leave or enter the estate until this is cleared.”

Of course, my Lord.”

a/n; let me know if y'all want Ayato’s pov during this incident
