How I picture the ‘drink-till-you-sink champion-ship’ party mentioned in the new Beiguang+Kazuyan(?) fic :

Ningguang, Huixing, in the Alcor crow’s nest, waving around 800-year-old Pinot Blanc and three-day-old moonshine, respectively:

“Greeting spring with Lantern Rite,

See the Harbour shine at night,

Can you hear Rex Lapis sing?

Wishing us gōng xǐiiiii”

Juza: “It’s two a.m., can someone shut them up?”

Beidou: “I went up there but they ignored me. You wanna try your luck?”

Ningguang, Huixing, exactly three quarter-tones apart to sound as out of tune as possible:

“gōng xǐ, gōng xǐ, gōng xǐ nǐ;

gōng xǐ, gōng xǐ, gōng xǐ nǐ…”

Beidou: “Kazuha! There you are. Get Huixing and your other mother to take the singing indoors, will you? The Millelith already issued us a warning.”

Kazuha: “Mom, authentic Liyuean poetry is for sharing with the world.”

Kazuha: “Hey, wanna try this? It’s non-alcoholic gin, tastes of maple leaves and pine.”

Beidou, sniffing: “…who told you it was non alcoholic?”

Kazuha: “The scent on the wind.”

Ningguang, Huixing, patriotic tears in their eyes, or possibly tears of laughter:

“gōng xǐ, gōng xǐ, gōng xǐ nǐ;

gōng xǐ, gōng xǐ, gōng xǐ nǐ…”

Sea Drake: “…the chorus does not go for that long.”

Xinyan: “Neat. Guess that means the Tianquan has rock'n'roll spirit!”

(cross-post.) @cadriona @love-ya-ning also to be clear this takes place in June.
