Kazuha smiled in bittersweet as his glossy eyes reread over the heartfelt handwritten words of the letter in his hands. He was sat alone under a tree in Liyue, with the sun setting slowly in the background and the chilly breeze flowed through the leaves and making Kazuha’s platinum hair dance ever so slightly.

He didn’t move. Not one bit as he once again read over the letter. The love letter you had gave him before your passing. His heart clenched and squeezed each lovely word that was said upon the precious paper. “I love you, forever and always.” A sentence has said in your handwriting. Your handwriting you had protested that was awful but Kazuha always told you that it was a piece of art.

This was the last thing you ever wrote. And it was to him.

He’d known you were sick, however he thought you’d soon recover as the doctors in Inazuma had said. They said your health was improving and you were doing well. Hearing this, Kazuha had left for a trip to Liyue to get you a thoughtful gift, but unbeknownst to him while he was away - your health suddenly plummeted, getting worse and worse each hour.

The devastation Kazuha felt when he returned was excruciating. It made him feel numb for a while. He didn’t shed a tear from pure shock and disbelief; until he read your letter a day later where the waterfall of tears began.

He shouldn’t have left. He shouldn’t have gone on that trip. He could’ve been right next to you in your last breath. He could have found a way to save you. But he wasn’t there. Not there when you needed him most. And that was the guilt that would carry on to him for the rest of his life.

Kazuha loved you. Loved you with all his heart. Loved you from one end of the universe to the other. He could write haikus after haikus about you and it would fill two books.

“Go travel for me, Kazuha. Go see beautiful sceneries.” You had written. Oh, but nothing was as beautiful as you. Nothing was as breathtakingly as you. Nothing could make his heart beat fast like you did when you smiled at him and told him: “You look dashing today. Just like every other day.”

Kazuha missed you. Only two weeks ago, he was holding your hand as he read you one of his haikus. As he promised to be yours for eternity.

“I love you.” Was the last thing he said to you before taking his leave.

“I love you, too.” Were your last words to him.
