So in celebration of Childe Week, let’s talk about my most favorite scene of his so far. It’s one where he says one word to Zhongli: ‘hi’.

He could have said something like 'it’s me, Childe’ or 'yeah, I’m back’ or even 'hey’, but he simply said 'hi’. This is me listening to the English dub, so I’m unaware of the greeting being different in other languages. For this post, we’ll celebrate him using such a simple, innocent greeting: hi. One we barely use ourselves, and when we do, it’s adorable.

We can also focus on the innocence of his smile. Both his smile and simple greeting capture a Childe that betrays the idea of a sadistic, murderous Childe, helping us to assume there’s much more to him than 'OMG TRAITOROUS BAD GUY’.
