You and Xingqiu are childhood friends, you two were inseparable since the day you two met. Entering high school, however, the both of you started to drift. You would still go over to his house to drop off your moms desserts for his mom, or to get help with homework on subjects you didn’t quite get. At school, you two rarely ever saw each other. Secretly though, Xingqiu avoided you at school. Xingqiu didn’t think he was good enough to be seen with you. You thought the same as well. Him being a son of the Feiyun Commerce Guild and you being a commoner. why would he want to be seen around a commoner like you? He admired that you were a commoner though, he loved his time around you because you treated him like a normal person, you never used honorifics towards him even with his status. You were the only person he felt normal around. One day, he fell sick while his parents were away doing errands along with his brother. Your mom had already went over to take a look at him and make sure he didn’t need to be sent to the hospital. When you came home, your mom told you to go over and feed him soup as she went to the store to get medicine for him. You did as she said but in all sincerity you were just worried for him. When you arrived, he was sleeping in his room, he looked so peaceful. it only made you wish you could be the only person to see him like this. Though you two were never around each other at school, when you two are alone it’s completely different. subconsciously, you start playing his hair. he was so pretty. you were so focused on his hair that you didn’t notice him waking up. “Y/N..?” his raspy voice was enough to break you out of your trance. you go to lift your hand off his hair and hum in response. He looks up at you, then your hand, back at you and goes to lay his head in your lap. OHMYGOSHWHATTHEHECKAREYOUDOINGXINGQIUWHATTHEFUCK. red. your cheeks were burning red. you look down at him, “Are you feeling better, Xingqiu?” all he does is hum for a bit. “you know..” he starts, you look down at him letting him know he has your full attention. “i’ve always loved you, Y/N.” just when you where calmed down, blushing all over the place. “I know you’d never see me the way i do but-“ “I DO…” you not only startle him but yourself. he gets up from your lap. “You…. you what?” well, there’s not going back now right. “i love you. i have for a while. i never thought i was good enough to be with you though.” “NOT GOOD ENOUGH?” him suddenly raising his voice scared you. “WHAT DO YOU MEAN NOT GOOD ENOUGH? IM NOT GOOD ENOUGH FOR YOU WHAT ARE YOU ON ABOUT??” you place your hand on his, “calm down qiu, don’t raise your voice it’ll strain your voice and make you feel even more ill.” he pauses, “…right, im sorry. i didn’t mean to raise my voice at you i was just-“ “i know, you don’t have to explain yourself qiu.” you smile at him. he stares at you for a second and then smiles at you as well. “OH! i brought you soup, please eat it, it’ll help you feel better. i think moms on her way with medicine too and-“ he breaks your sentence with a kiss. now you were both red. although it was a quick peck, it was enough to break your train of thought. “So…” his voice breaks the silence, you look at his nervous composure. “uhm… w-will you be my partner?” You’re in shock, you cant believe your childhood friend, the one person you’ve always loved but never been able to confess to, the one person who’s always been by your side, was asking you to be his. you smile, “i would love to be your partner, qiu.” “I’m so glad!” he says with a smile. “Now eat the soup before my mom comes in and lectures us both.” you both laugh as he starts to eat the soup.

He missed school for another day since he was still a bit sick but that didn’t stop you from going over to give him his school work and his soup to make him feel better. though it was a bit weird at first, you two got used to being partners quite easily. he would kiss you on the cheek when you’d come over, he’d hold your hand when you would sit down and watch tv as he ate, or as he helped with school work. when he wasn’t sick anymore, you two would cuddle up next to each other and watch tv together, you’d sit in his lap as you two played games together, you guys even started having sleep overs almost everyday. both your parents knew when you two got together and they didn’t mind it, if anything they’d tease you two and say “about time you two got together” and although it made you to blush, you knew they were right. At school, it was the most change out of all this whole dating thing. you two started hanging out more and more during free periods, lunch, before and after school. Xingqiu wanted to walk you to each of your classes but you told him he didn’t need too since you didn’t want him to get in trouble. He’d walk you to your first class and he’d wait for you outside of your last when his class ended early. the two of you would walk to and back from school, although you two didn’t show much PDA at school, just you two being around each other so out of the blue was enough of a sign to others that you two were together. You introduced xingqiu to your friends, he introduced you to his and the rest of your school years were a blast.

after high school, you two decided to move into your own little home, more like a shed then a home tbh but it was good enough for the two of you. Xingqiu still worked for the Feiyun Commerce Guild and worked on novels from home, you got a easy from home job for extra cash and because you didn’t want xingqiu to feel like you were just leaching off of him. you both made good money, your home wasn’t a home you’d expect people with your salary to have but it was more than enough for the two of you. it was close yo both your parents as well so it was more than enough and you two wouldn’t have it any other way.
