Part 1

So you return to the cave. Whether Albedo threatened Sucrose or not you didn’t know. Either way, the woman swore she wouldn’t tell a soul about you. About you being alive once more.

It was a month now. A month in the godforsaken cave. You hid away in a secret room when members from the adventurer’s guild or knights would stop by to warm up. Locked in the same room when Albedo needed to head into the city. When he returned he would bring new clothes, books, even board games so you would be entertained. When really they were distractions. Distractions from the facts. Fact one you were dead. Albedo had explained that he killed another person; a living breathing person to bring you back from the dead. Fact two you’re boyfriend was holding you captive. Out of fear of losing you again and the Knights learning what he did. It was all about his fear.

Another day as you rested your head on the table in your room. Fingers dressing between the fire as the flame licked back them. You didn’t feel the heat as you stopped your hand over the fire. You might have burnt your hand off if he didn’t show up when he did. Rushing towards you pulling your hand away from the flame. He began yelling

“Y/n! Are you insane?” You shrugged looking over his shoulder you saw Sucrose. She gave you a wave which you didn’t return. “Fascinating.” He hummed gloved finger tracing over your palm. “Your hand seemed to have healed. We must test this.” Snatching your hand from him you slammed in on the table. The green-haired woman flinching in the background.
“I’m not some lab rat Albedo!”

“I know-”

“Hell, I’m not even Y/n. I’m a monster.”

“Darling,” the blonde gently touched your shoulder. “You’re still you. You just-”

“Just what!? Need to get used to it? How? How can I get used to the fact that I can’t feel anything! How in the name of Barbatos can anyone get used to that!” You screamed pushing him away from you. Baking up farther into your room you. Hiding in a corner glaring at him. You reminded him of a feral animal. One that has yet to trust the person feeding them. And he reminds himself that it will take time. Sighing he moved towards the door. Looking back at you in the corner he speaks softly.

“Sucrose and I will be working if you need me. Don’t hesitate to ask.” With that, he closes that door to your room.

“Um, Albedo. Sir?” The assistant speaks up as she hands him a vile of purple liquid. He hums signaling that he heard her. “Is what happened with Y/n normal? I don’t mean to pry but-” His sigh cuts off her rambling as pushing away from the table. Hands run down his face as he stared straight ahead.

“It’s becoming the norm yes. She believes herself to be a monster. And I have myself to blame for that. If only I did a few more experiments. Just maybe…” He begins to mutter to himself as the green-haired woman listens on. She was the one that brought up the subject without a single way to help.

“I just have to give her more time. As long as it takes.” He speaks; mostly to himself. Without another word about his relationship spoken the two return to the experiment.

A whole day of experiments and you hadn’t come out of your room; not once. Sucrose noticed her mentor staring at the door soft sighs leaving him. Gently she touched his arm telling him to check on you as she cleaned up. He nodded because moving towards the door. Three knocks and he waits. To see if you are willing to open the door. It was quiet. Maybe you were sleeping.

“Darling how are you?” Gently he pushed the door open, “Y/n!” Rushing into the room he takes notice of the pools of blood. A sharpened rock in hand, blood strained your clothes and dripped from your arms. He watched at the skin healed only for you to crave into it once again.

“Stop that!” Grabbing your wrist he snatches the rock from you. Throwing it out of your reach he looks at your face. Tears run down your cheek as you stare at your healing arms.

“I can’t die,” you finally look at your boyfriend. “I want to die. I don’t belong here.”

“Don’t stay that.” He pulls you into him. His hand caresses your head as you stay still in place. “We will get past this love. I will find a way to bring your senses back.”

“You don’t get it. I don’t belong here.” Pushing away from him you stand and bolt out the door. Bumping into Sucrose she drops the papers in her hand. She tries to call out to you. Asking you what was wrong. How? How could she ask that? She knows what is wrong. So need to leave this place. You need to escape. Once more you run into the snow path. It seemed the mountain is on your side as the wind and snow picked up covering your footsteps. Leaving Albedo no way to track you down.
