Teucer’s perception of Mr. Cyclops is a metaphor for his perception of Childe himself- which makes that first conversation about how ruin guards are dangerous and Teucer defending them a lot sadder-
imagine how terrified Childe must have been in the moment he figured out that Teucer had run away- afterall, in Childe’s own life everything bad that happened to him happened as a result of he himself running away.
