“You.”

Her voice cold. Her eyes glowing with the colour of her of her element as she glared down at him, him who snatched the Vision away before she could shatter it.

He stood there, Paimon floating hesitantly beside him as he clutched the Vision tightly to his chest.

(He won’t let it go. He won’t let someone else go through that same feeling of emptiness he had when he realised he had lost all of his powers upon awakening. He won’t subject them to it.)

The crowd that he had leapt out from had parted, all of them looking at him warily, with fear. The guards had their swords out.

Their Archon glared at him.

“So. The Princess of the Abyss Order has finally chosen to send someone interfere with the ongoings of Inazuma then.”

And Aether suddenly couldn’t breathe.

She was glaring at him. Not for his inteference, but out of recognition.

Lumine had met the Electro Archon then. And the Electro Archon knew that Lumine was the Abyss Princess.

He clutched the Vision in his hand tighter as he slowly backed away.

“Capture him.”

She gave the order.

And Aether was suddenly glad that he always carried an Electrograna with him, as he willed it to carry him to the Thunder Sphere in the air nearby.

He vanished from the crowd in a blink of Electro.

He could hear the crowd clamor in shock and gossip as he quickly landed away from them and began running.

Running.

Running.

And hoping that someone would save him.

(Like Childe had in Liyue.)

Hoping that there was someone who was kind and friendly and would lend a hand regardless of how suspicious he looked.

(Like Amber had in Mondstadt.)

Aether’s hopes that the Archons of Teyvat would continue to be understanding, despite the fair warning he got from Kazuha, were dashed.

Not all of them could be like Venti or Zhongli.

He was naive.

So he ran.

(That seemed to be all he could do.)
