Hear me out, Xinqiu probably gets all excited when Beidou’s ship arrives to Liyue and goes running to hear all the new stories her and her crew have from their travels.
He comes back home with his hair all messy, because Beidou keeps ruffling his hair each time he asks for a new tale, and the biggest smile you’ll ever see.
He probably has a notebook in which he writes these tales to look back at them later, while he waits for her ship to come back once more.
