i feel like if an apology or an apology adjacent conversation, were to ever take place it would be begin mutually

not kaeya or diluc feeling immense guilt, one more than the other, for letting it prolong so long, but instead the two of them being in the same space and just realizing, ‘woah, I miss him, this man infront of me, my brother, I miss him so much my chest aches,’ and I doubt either of them are the type to break down and apologise but just,,,,,

diluc going, 'how are you doing kaeya?’

and all kaeya does is smile, not the 'nights at the tavern’ smile or the 'etiquettes were shoved down my throat’ smile but his genuine smile that diluc hasn’t seen since they were kids and diluc just knows that there’s something left to salvage between them and he knows kaeya knows too
