Right so ever since I started playing Genshin Impact I ended up shipping both Diluc and Jean, in my defense the Tavern

Right so ever since I started playing Genshin Impact I ended up shipping both Diluc and Jean, in my defense the Tavern Scene gives both of them the same energy of two exes who still carry a torch for one another (Bonus points in the Japanese Dialogue with Jean referring to him as “Senpai”) so in this blog I’m going to go and list a handful of headcanons on the two. Some of which are taken from the common headcanons from the others.

Fair warning: I’m still around Rank 15 and I haven’t fully maxed out the Companionship for Jean nor do I have Diluc so I’ll end up potentially missing a few key Lore or History about them.

1.) The two are Childhood Friends, as evidenced by the fact both of them have pet turtles in their Childhood and the two would hang out with their turtles in a form or Playdate.

2.) Kaeya is very much aware of the two’s attraction to one another from the start, now it’s common knowledge that the two are siblings so chances are he grew up with them. It also makes more sense that he isn’t surprised that the two carry feelings for one another.

3.) Prior to Diluc leaving the Knights, Jean carried a form of Admiration for him that is a reason why she’s working hard as the acting Grandmaster of the Knights.

4.) Barbara has once heard of stories and rumors of Jean admiring a former Knight but she’s couldn’t help but wonder if it was just admiration or something else entirely.

5.) While Klee has never directly heard of Diluc being part of the Knights, after several incidents of her making her way into the Winery that Diluc owns, she does begin to view him as a Father figure and Diluc in turn doesn’t mind her around as long as she doesn’t do too much property damage.

6.) Before becoming acting Grandmaster, Jean visits the Tavern that Diluc owns hoping she can see him but when he’s not around she does however stay and enjoy a bottle of her favourite drink to relax.

7.) Diluc occasionally notices that Jean visits him in the Tavern to enjoy some drinks to relax and when he’s not around to catch up with her he always makes sure to have her favourite drink ready just in case.
