Hopes and Dreams X

(Trigger warning: unintentional self-harm, Heisenberg gets ripped a new one)

“Mother! Y/n she’s-come quick! Heisenberg tries to keep her in check, but she completely lost it!” Daniela panted out when she rushed into Alcina’s study, fear evident in her voice. Alcina got up immediately, realizing with horror that Daniela was crying.

“What happened, sweetling?” Alcina asked urgently and pulled Daniela into her embrace.

“There is no time, we have to hurry! I’ll explain everything later, please just come with me!”

They hurried out of the castle immediately and Daniela lead Alcina towards the lake, where the sounds of a fight became loud and clear. The smell of Heisenberg’s blood was prominent in the air and inhuman snarling and guttural howling could be heard almost all the way up to the castle. With worry overtaking her, Alcina rushed ahead of Daniela.

The scene that greeted her made a sharp pain tug at her chest. You were charging at Heisenberg, utterly out of your mind, screaming and snarling all the way. Your claws ripped through the ground; your once beautifully colored y/e/c eyes engulfed by crimson. Another loud snarl showed your elongated fangs, and you tore at Heisenberg again, almost ripping his leg right off. You were a sight to behold and Alcina was sure that in this state, you would easily overpower even her.

“You utter fool, what have you done to her?!” Alcina’s voice thundered through the clearing and Heisenberg froze. But not just Heisenberg stopped moving immediately, you stopped as well, staring at Alcina with a spark of recognition. All of a sudden, you howled again, grabbing your head and thrashing wildly. Your sharp claws ripped at your face, leaving gashed at the side of your head and tears were streaming down your face as you kept howling and groaning.

Everything within Alcina screamed at her to help you, but she knew that you would never forgive yourself if you should accidentally hurt her. Daniela was anxiously hovering at the clearing too, and Alcina begged to every higher power that she would stay there. She almost forgot that Heisenberg was still there until he started speaking, “I didn’t know that she’s with you! I saw her killing a pack of my Lycans and just wanted to teach her a lesson!”

“She is wearing my crest, you stupid excuse of a man!”

“Sorry for not seeing it in the dark, bitch!”

A lot of things happened all at once. You weren’t at the edge of the lake anymore, for one, instead, you stood protectively in front of Alcina, crushing something in your hand and snarling at Heisenberg. With a start Alcina realized that you were holding Heisenberg’s arm. As if on cue, he started groaning in pain, clutching the bloodied stump that was left as he went down to his knees. You flung his arm to the side and stepped towards him once again.

“Y/n.” Alcina gently said and you stopped moving. Your body started shuddering again and you gasped for hair, clawing at your head and groaning in pain. Alcina carefully stepped around your body to face you, realizing that your eyes had somewhat returned to their natural color. They were filled with so much fear and pain that it physically hurt her to look into them. She crouched down in front of you, holding out her hand, but you flinched back, curling in on yourself and whimpering “Don’t look at me… Please… Just take Daniela and run, I don’t know how long I can keep it in.”

Alcina didn’t move a muscle.

Please… I don’t want to hurt you!” you begged, clawing at your arms, ripping the fabric.

“I know you can fight it.” Alcina whispered, looking deep into your eyes, and shuffling forward. Your body shuddered even more violently, the closer she got to you and your eyes were focusing and unfocusing rapidly. She could see the fight and how much strength it took out of you not to lose it again. You continued to claw at yourself, groaning, thrashing, and it broke her heart to see you this way.

Finally, after what felt like centuries, your body stilled, and you started sobbing. Alcina was with you immediately, cradling your head in her lap as you fell forward, mindful of your injuries.

“I- I’m sorry!” you hiccupped through your sobs and tears, still afraid.

“Shush… It’s okay…” Alcina tried to soothe you, but you just became even more agitated, your eyes shifting around without seeing anything. Without a warning you jumped to your feet, clutching the front of her dress, and whispering with urgency, “I don’t want to drown!”

“It’s okay, my little dove. You are not drowning.” Alcina said, mildly confused and greatly concerned, but the eyes that were staring back to here weren’t your own. The urgency in them was disconcerting as were your next words, “Miranda can’t have you! Take Bela to Karl and leave with them at once!”

“What are you talking about?” Alcina asked, voice and knees feeling weak as she looked at you. Her hearts started thundering in her chest and with dawning horror she realized what you were talking about…

“Promise me, my love…” you whispered, before you fainted right into her arms, your whole body going limp. Alcina pulled you against her chest, clutching you close to her heart, shaking herself. That wasn’t you talking. The realization broke her heart into a million pieces all over again and she buried her face in your neck, fighting the tears that were trying to escape. Choking back her sobs, she pulled you even tighter to herself, her whole world falling apart right in front of her.

“Mama?” Daniela’s small and cautious voice broke her out of her stupor, and she pulled herself back together, at least for the moment. There was a time to show weakness and it wasn’t now. She had to calm Daniela and take you back to the castle, you were freezing.

“It’s alright, sweetling, it’s over. She is unconscious.” Alcina whispered and pulled Daniela into a one-armed hug, the other arm still holding you close to her.

“Nothing is alright, this is all my fault! If I hadn’t taken y/n hunting with me and if we hadn’t split up, none of this would have happened.” Daniela sobbed and buried her face in Alcina’s shoulders, her hands desperately clenching the tattered remains of your hoodie, as if you would fly away any moment.

“Hush my little one. None of this is your fault, how were you to know that this would happen? And it wasn’t you who attacked her.” Alcina growled and glared at Heisenberg, who was picking up his arm, still cursing under his breath, “And he got what he deserved.”

“Fuck Alcina, I didn’t know! I never saw your crest on her.”

“Silence. I don’t want to hear your sorry excuses.”

“I wouldn’t have touched her if I had known. She was right in front of the moon, I couldn’t even make out her face. You know I wouldn’t have touched her if I had known what I know now. As soon as she was flying towards the lake, I saw her face and the crest, and Dani practically screamed bloody murder at me.” Heisenberg growled and reattached his arm, “And while that is horrible enough, did you hear what she just said?”

“I am not deaf you moron. I heard.” Alcina hissed and carefully got to her feet, holding your limp body close to her. Your lips were already turning blue, and she had to get you and Daniela back immediately. She glanced at Heisenberg and said, “Make yourself useful and give me your coat, I won’t have her freeze to death.”

“Alcina, we need to talk about this!” Heisenberg said urgently, while handing her what remained of his coat. Alcina wrapped you up carefully, with the help of Daniela and ignored Heisenberg for the moment. Even though you were unconscious, your teeth were chattering madly. Without another word, she turned around and pulled Daniela with her back in the direction of the castle.

“Miranda killed her before and will kill her again if she finds out that she is back!” Heisenberg yelled and to Alcina’s surprise, his voice was laced with concern.

“That is none of your concern.” She snarled and marched on, but Heisenberg was following her, snarling right back, “But it is! Miranda demands absolute loyalty, and if she finds out that you are hiding her, you will both die.”

“Miranda won’t find out; I won’t let her have her.”

“So, you will reconsider my offer?”

“Uncle Heis, I don’t think now is the right time.” Daniela said and glared at him.

“I would think about it if I were you. You won’t be able to protect her on your own, Miranda is too powerful for that.” Heisenberg said and finally left. Alcina was gnashing her teeth. Hard to admit as it was, Heisenberg was right. But that was a thought for another time, she had to get you back to the castle and into the warmth at once.

You were back in your dreamscape, feeling like absolute shit. A girl was standing in front of you and looking at you with worry and softness. She looked just like the other girl you met here, but you didn’t have the energy to wonder about that, since your memories were slowly returning and your whole body ached.

“There was a boy on the ship. He told me that he would lead me to the lifeboats, and like the fool I am I trusted him. It wasn’t a boy, it was Miranda, and she killed me. She wanted Alcina for her scheme and I was in her way, so she locked me in the room, leaving me to drown.” The girl said and sadness overtook her futures.

“I don’t understand.” You whisper desperately, trying to fight the fogginess of your mind. The girl just smiled sadly and said, “Soon, little one. It’s not your time yet but heed my warning. Stay away from Mother Miranda. And protect them.”

“That was the plan.” You whisper, giving up on making any sense of this conversation. Your consciousness was fading again, and it felt like you were pulled under water. But you weren’t afraid. Someone was waiting on the other side.
