Madre Mía

Madre Mía

(Mother of mine)

{In appreciation for Mother’s Day }

Being taken into the castle was one of many virtues the lady had, being a mother of three eternal teenage vampires was another. However, you weren’t immortal or a creature of the night, you just happened to be a wandering child in a village far from home or place you inhabited.

You tried to help in anyway possible, from doing simple chores to making the lady laugh or making mother happy as she told you. Being fairly young and with no parents you never really knew what it’s like to have siblings or a mother but she changed that. Instead of trying to get you to do chores she played with you, studied with you and colored with you and she even went as far to teach you your native tongue of language.

Your older sisters were never rough or even terrifying as you heard about in your village. They lived to sing and paint, play fighting with you and showing you all the interesting ways they changed into insects but what captured your heart was how they curled up with you in bed as you slept.

It wasn’t just your older sister that captured your heart but that Lady Dimitrescu had named you and loved you so fiercely that she fought literal tooth and nail against humans who wanted to take you away. There were so many things that simply made your heart swell with love, the one thing that made it burst was being on her shoulders as she took you outside for the first snowfall.

There in that moment she wasn’t a lady, a mother or a immortal being she was a god in your eyes and one you could gladly have all to yourself. “I love you mama,” you said quietly “madre mía.”

Without you noticing, a tear slipped down her cheek as she smiled so happily with her newest edition to the Dimitrescu lineage.
