jokes aside, mrbeast’s youtube rewind was very wholesome and it gave me a warm feeling in my chest. he let the community talk, it was very simple and honest, it felt like home. we were all stuck inside for a long time and most of us found comfort in these creators, seeing them together in one video got me very emotional. all the nights that I spent listening to corpse ever since I was like 13, all the meme reviews, the among us gameplays, minecraft blowing up again, the contests and people raising money for charity… it was just so beautiful.
a lot of them got to interact for the first time through games that were less about plot and graphics and more about friendship. they didn’t realize they were making memories. they were just having fun.
