He [Yosemite Sam] wasn’t like Elmer Fudd, who I thought was such a weak character that anybody could take advantage of his stupidity. No, Yosemite Sam was an aggressive, loud-mouthed character who you would like to see defeated, you know? And when I hit on Yosemite Sam, I felt he was such a stronger character, more of an opposition and more of a threat to Bugs than anybody else. You can see that right off the bat, in “Hare Trigger”. I wanted to see Bugs so oppressed that he had to defend himself. nd THAT made for a stronger situation, than if he was oppressed by the likes of Porky Pig or Elmer Fudd.
