“There’s only us.” Slithice looked around, but the only sound was the dripping of water. Rain hitting the ground, drops falling onto the leaves and gathering there before splashing down. They were cool on her skin, not as cold as the ocean would be, but still welcome.

“Of course we are, the rain falls in sheets.” The creature next to the Naga Siren wasn’t as happy about the rain as her because water messed with his powers over lightning.

“But Razor”, Slithice hummed, “there’s only us.”

They were rarely alone. She saw the moment Razor realized it. His features brightened even as the rain drops made small electric discharges dance over his body as small sparks of light. The Naga wondered if it hurt, but she supposed it was merely irritating.

She reached out, to find out if it would hurt her. Water ran down her body and she felt alive. Too long on the surface made her sluggish but right now she felt wonderful.

“Razor.” At her soft address he moved closer, until her fingertips brushed against his clothes. The electricty prickled, not painful at all. She put her hand flat on his chest, then. The discharges on her skin felt strange and Slithice laughed. She was delighted by this encounter in the rain.

When she looked up at Razor, all grumpiness had vanished from his features. Instead his eyes held fondness. “You are rarely this happy.” He brushed a hand over her shoulder, finding her skin slick. “I think I might actually like rain, when I can see you happy because of it.”

The Naga Siren hummed deep in her throat. “It’s not just the rain, it’s because we are alone, if only for a few moments and”, she tapped her fingers against his chest, “because I’ve never seen your powers do this. You have a tight control over them and it amuses me that you can’t control them when you come into contact with water. I wonder what will happen when you go swimming.”

Now Razor laughed as well. “I can show you if you want to. It is definitely a sight.”

“Come here, I’d like to find out how it feels to kiss you in the rain.”

“As you wish.” Smiling, every drop of water sparkling on his body, Razor leaned down.

At first, only Slithice’s lips prickled, then the feeling moved over her skin, from her head to the tip of her tail. She blinked in amazement, then pulled Razor closer, kissing him and kissing. The sensations flooded through her until she was breathless from it. Her smile, when they seperated, was bright and Razor returned it.

He kept running his hands over her shoulders and arms. “I didn’t think I’d ever enjoy even a second in the rain but you make this quite pleasurable.”

“I’m glad. This is my best rain-encounter, too.” She didn’t stop touching him, either.

But too soon, the rain stopped. For a few moments it was almost quiet, the last drops rolling from the leaves and nature holding its breath, waiting to see if the rain was truly over.

Then everything popped back to life and wistfully Slithice and Razor brought a little distance between them. They were not here to enjoy themselves, they had a job to do.

Nonetheless they were both smiling as they hurried on through the forest.
